Dont even ask! My iPhone 4S has lost its WiFi capability since I have updated to ios 6.0.1. It only works when I am very near to the wifi router!!

Now, I got this phone from HK so it turns out that I cannot avail warranty here!

I got no choice but to wait for next iteration of ios and hope there would be a fix.

Disappointed.

Jese, that's terrible. Did you try resetting your Network Settings. It did improve a couple of network issues in my phone.

Settings -> General -> Reset.

If you already have done this and had no luck, then all you can do is wait for the next update like us and hope it contains the resolution to these issues.

re: The iPhone Thread

Anyone interested in Apple iPhone 4S 16GB?

HomeShop18 keeps running some sort of daily deals. I've been getting their emails since yesterday [my smart wife might have initiated that, maybe giving me a hint ]

I think the iPhone 4S 16GB priced at MRP Rs. 38500/- is available for Rs. 31999/-, from 6:00pm today and only until 11:59am tomorrow 23rd Nov.

Rush, if you consider this a good deal [because the coupons are very limited and the offer ends when the last discount coupon is used].

Without this offer, HS18 sells the same phone at Rs. 37499/-. Just saw this and posting for benefit of members on the verge of deciding for this phone. Don't immediately conclude I work for HS18; I don't.

I've been supremely stupid in not pasting the link to the offer page. Facepalm#. Only just realised.

link to offer page: http://homeshop18.us5.list-manage1.c...6&e=d29c440a2d

Glad you got it.. The EMI offer kind of beats the discount offer [bank processing fees too high].

Caveat: Try at your own risk, it did not hurt me thus suggesting a work around.

For all those having issues on iPhone post iOS 6 upgrade. Go to your router settings and restrict it to G type only. Stop the N type. No mixed thing.
Voila it should stop your wifi woes. However, it will slow down your shiny new mac or other N using laptops and accessories.

Cheers!

Here Maps has been available for a few days. It has driving directions for India, no voice prompts though. I'll check the accuracy this afternoon and tomorrow morning.

I downloaded it. However it is heavily dependent on the network. Hence in India it is more likely to be a pain unlike map applications which can work off line as well.
It took a good 3 or 4 minute to determine where I was in Koramangala this morning, on account of the network being slow.

Not sure whether this will work as well as the resident Nokia Free map application on my Nokia N8 used to work!

Shankar, Which maps are being referred to ?

Best I think is the sygic with MMI maps (if thats not the one under discussion).
In google play I saw an offer for the latest MMI with Sygic for about 1300/-

This was about 2-3 weeks back. The Iphone version was about 1800/-

This is the recently released free I phone application called Nokia Here.
Haven't yet bought or tried sygic.

I thought, this, being Nokia Here, it would be similar to the resident Nokia maps on the N8 which I had downloaded and was able to use even while offline.
However, with Nokia Here, I believe one has to be online to use the maps.

Exactly, that is the problem with online navigation. The same problem occurs with Google Maps as well.
Totally Agree that Nokia's Mapping solutions work best on their devices. Those apps make the stand alone navigator obsolete.
By the way, For Offline navigation on the iPhone try the MapMyIndia and SatGuide Apps.

Thank you. I shall try these out via the app store.

How do these work in your experience?

Cheers!
