Never had this issue with my iPhone. I have the latest update installed.

My friend bought a used factory unlocked iPhone 5 just last week, we put in the Airtel sim and it readily got full signal from T Mobile (airtel must have a tie up for intl roaming with them).

I see no reason why it wont work in India, the bands are compatible and do make sure its a factory unlocked model and not ATT etc.

If unlocked will work. Further there are both Gsm and cdma networks in the US and depending on the carrier one of them is activated on the phone. The phone hardware itself supports both gsm and cdma but only one is activated.

So at and t, works on gsm while I think veriozon works on cdma. First ensure you have a gsm phone and then make sure it's unlocked.

Supriyo, don't if you are already using it, but I was referring to this feature --

http://www.tuaw.com/2011/11/14/iphon...easier-typing/

You can add shortcuts which when typed automatically expand to the text that you have configured.

My wife uses a iP4 that I brought back from US last year. It was unlocked by AT&T.

yes I know that along with the 4s works.
The 5 has separate hardware configuration mostly for the better as now its one device for both gsm & cdma. My only concern is that iPhone 5 has 3 or so models to support all LTE networks across the globe. So just want to make sure thst the US one would work on bsnl 3g

Re: The iPhone Thread

Guys have decided to buy an iphone for myself. Is it worth waiting for the 5s, or should I pick it up now? Also I'm getting a 16gb one since I don't need the space. What is a good price?

I am using the unlocked iPhone 5 since Nov end, and it just works, go ahead and get the unlocked version and it will work, you will need to do the carries level APN setting for BSNL.
