Galaxy advance is good but it will not get ICS & subsequent updates so it's out.

I will definitely compare all Xperia models with One V and then make a decision.

Oops. I meant the Neo L and not the Neo V. Neo V is old model.

The only advantage the Samsung S advance offers is dual core.

Will the Galaxy nexus be launched in India?

I came across this website of Google India
Galaxy Nexus

From the website, it looks like Samsung and google will launch this product soon. They have earlier released a statement (in April 2012) saying that samsung has no plans to launch Google Nexus. I hope they take back the statement and launch it here. The above page shows that launch will be soon.

Any idea about the launch of this device?

Thank you for your interest. The form you are trying to access has either expired or reached its maximum registration limit.
Looks like they have stopped even registering interest in the launch.

Sorry to disappoint himavanth_m, this page has been so for as long as I can remember now, since sep/oct'11 maybe. Like you already know, Samsung has officially confirmed, we won't be getting it here.

Thanks for the info! However, I don't see any such option in the stock android player? Or does it appear only if BT is active?

Never actually used a BT headset before; so just one more question - does using a BT headset drain the battery any faster (or slower) than using the phone directly or using a wired headset?

It shall appear once you activate the Bluetooth.

As far as battery drain is concerned its minimal. I can attend 2 to 5minutes calls without draining much of the battery. Even the headset which is pretty basic lasts for 6 to 7hours max with short calls.

Thanks again! Considering a basic headset only. Should work with audio books. Was considering the Swissvoice... but getting the Samsung HM 1100 for much less with discount. Any ideas?

You're welcome.

About headsets, i use the basic Nokia one which retails for 800 bucks i think. I dont remember the model number as ive lost the packing. It doesnt come with charger. And has a plastic loop to place it over the ear. IIRC it could be nokia hs 100.

Other users should be able to help you more with this

Regards.

^^^Hows the Nokia you are using? But if its 800, its much better to spend couple hundred more and get Swissvoice. But I'll get neither for the price I'm getting the Samsung HM 1100. Just looked at reviews elsewhere. Main issue seems to be that it seems to be made for big ears. Mine aren't, so having 2nd thoughts... :(

re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Hey guys. I am a complete illiterate about phones, but I finally mustered-up some courage to buy a decent phone. Nothing too fancy, just a good sturdy phone that has 3G, GPRS etc. I have been using extremely basic phones till now, so i'm not really used to touch screens and complicated apps.

I have researched a bit and these two kinda caught my eye-

1) Nokia Asha 300

2) Nokia Asha 311

I would love to get some valuable advice from you phone-guru's on these phones. And most importantly I read on some site that the 300 isn't functioning perfectly for everybody. Are these phones sturdy, reliable and dependable enough? Are they complete safe buy for someone who isn't a gadget-head?

Thank you. Cheers!

re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Guys, what's your opinion on Motorola Fire XT311. Infibeam is selling it for 6598 with a 2GB card thrown in.

I am looking for a QWERTY + Wifi + Android + 3MP cam atleast. Any other phones in this price range?

Only other phone which I could locate with all these is the Samsung Duos B5512

I have received my e-bill dated 26th Aug 2012 and still the bill has the offer splashed around in many places. There is some serious miscommunication issues within Aircel I think.

I was unable to find a new Asus phone. I absolutely loved the ownership experience.

I went to buy a Motorola Defy Mini.
But instead bought a "Samsung Galaxy Y Duos S6102".

I paid approx 8600 at Reliance Digital.
Since I was not planning on this particular phone. I forgot about the "FREE Samsung BT kit" in flipkart.

But the phone looks and feels good.
