It was available for more than an hour since 10:00AM. I had it in my cart. A colleague of mine bought it too. Wonder how you missed it.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

It's been almost a week and I'm totally frustrated with this lolipop 5.0.2 update on my Moto G XT1033.

- Phone has slowed down considerably
- Becomes unresponsive for 10-15 secs randomly
- Has restarted automatically 3-4 times already
- Dropping too many calls. Don't know if it's the device or the service provider

I want to get back to the previous version Kitkat 4.4.4.

I'm ok if i need to full back up my data and do a factory reset.

Pls help!

Overall, I'm mostly feeling the lag in the dialler. Lollipop dialler is definitely slower than the one on Kitkat. Even FB and Whatsapp take slightly longer to launch..

In hindsight, I would have preferred to keep 4.4.4 instead of 5.0.2

After updating my Galaxy S4, I feel the screen brightness has reduced. Anyone else feel the same?

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Got this when my 2 year old HTC Desire SV was showing signs of aging. I would say it is a little tiring to get used to MIUI compared to more intuitive HTC sense.

On first impressions, nothing much has changed. Even in the description of the update, it mentions minor improvements and bug fixes.
Would have to wait for battery life and performance changes.

Congrats on your new phone.
Just curious to know the reasons as to why you picked the Mi4 over the OnePlus One?

Before that try clearing the Cache Partition.

Its not that easy. I did this once and that took me couple of hours to figure it out, also this might brick your phone. Proceed with caution.

Here is a link with relevant information http://www.androidcentral.com/downgrade-android-help

Easier option i would have tried is to restore phone to factory settings. This usually can be done by going in settings menu. Another option is using a custom launcher optimized for Lolipop.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Fellow Lollipop users,

I've noticed a bug(?) with the adaptive brightness in my Moto G. When the mode is switched on, and I slide the brightness slider to say, 15% or below, the screen starts flickering slightly.

A quick search reveals that almost all Moto Gs are facing the issue. So it seems to be a software issue.

Are the Nexuses here facing this problem?

By flickering, if you mean the the brightness not being lowered smoothly, then yes. The actual screen/display doesn't have any flickering. Rather the brightness is not adjusted smoothly as you go down the limits.
This is smoother if adaptive brigtness is not enabled.

*observed in my Nexus 5.

Nope, I meant continuous flickering, almost like a candlelight. (very slight flickering, though)

That said, if I disable adaptive brightness and then set the screen brightness to minimum, the screen is fine.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

My friend is looking to replace his Nexus 4 and has narrowed down to the following 3 phones:
1. Nexus 6
2. Moto X
3. HTC one M8

The basic usage is same and the Nexus 4 was proving enough for everything he wants from a phone apart from camera quality. Any pointers to which one of the above will be the best buy? The recent add from Flipkart offering 10k for the old phone if you buy Nexus 6 looks like a good deal to me. His Nexus 4 wouldn't fetch 10k in the market otherwise.

If I got your point correctly, you mean to say the flickering continues even after the brightness is set to the desired level (<15%). i.e during normal usage post brightness changes.

Then no, I don't see that in N5.

P.S. If I again got your post wrong, then sorry I have nothing more to offer on this issue

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Guys need some help in installing custom ROM.
I have an Xperia Neo-V (MT11i) purchased in April-12. Now age is showing and it has become quite slow. So, searched google and found a way to root it. I don't know any technicalities in this rooting business.
So, I downloaded a file and installed it and things went well. I installed superuser & force2sd. Transferred all apps to sd card. But off late it has become very slow again.

I don't want to discard this phone since it quite compact and I am pretty much comfortable with it.

Now I need some help. Can anyone in Chennai help me out in how to go about installing a custom ROM to speed up things. I mean can I meet anyone of you personally and get this done? I have gone through articles in xda-forum but can't get myself to do it on my own.

Thanks in advance.

I am using HTC one and find it very goood. Low light photos are nice but not in the same league as Nokia Lumia phones.

Nexus 6 is overpriced in my opinion. As per news reports Nexus 5 has been reintroduced by Google, if basic usage is same then get Nexus 5 and keep Nexus 4 as backup solution.

If desire is to buy flagship then Nexus 6 alternatives could be Samsung Note 3/4. Another good alternative at a cheaper price point could be Lenovo Z2 pro.
