The Z3 Compact, definitely.

Flagship specs in a sensibly sized phone. Please avoid the Lagwiz laden Alpha.

Flipkart teasing the Motorola Droid Turbo. Should be priced well, only then Moto will continue its winning streak.

Moto Maxx is about to be launched on flipkart. Not sure about the price, but specs are awesome.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Folks,

Few of my friends developed an Android app called "TravelFriend" which is extremely useful to locate nearest hospital, ATM, fuel station, Rest room, pharmacy, Repair station, Tow agency, Restaurant etc based on current GPS location.

Hope this will be useful to you when you are on road

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...s.travelfriend

Disclaimer: Please note that this app is a free app and the intention of posting here is only to help our forum members with more useful information when they are on the road. There is zero commericial interest or intent in posting above app details.

Moto E users please reply. My mom's Moto E takes a really long time to charge. It is really S-L-O-W and gets irritating at times. How much time does your Moto E take to charge fully?

Is it a problem with my device? What can be done? Thanks in advance.

Did you try using a different charger? Since most phones come with a micro USB charging point now, I used to charge my Nexus 5 with one that came for some Motorola model. It used to take 2+ hours to complete charging.

I then used the adapter that came with the phone and it does it in less than 1.5hrs. Wireless charger also takes similar amount of time.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

My Nexus 4's earpiece went silent from yesterday. I couldn't hear any sound from the earpiece during a call, while the loud speaker and headphones are working fine. About a month back, a reboot solved the same issue. But now, even after multiple normal and safe mode reboots the problem persist. Has anyone encountered this issue? Any solution? Will a hard reset do the trick? My Nexus 4 is on Android 5.0.1.

Motorola charger is 500mA so the charging is slow. Get a charger that can charge at 1000mA and it will charge faster.

Tried another motorola charger?

My colleague's MotoE had the same behavior but on a non-motorola charger. His 1A HTC charger won't charge it (nor my samsung) at all. We would have to switch the phone off, and let it charge for 3-4 hours to reach 100%.

When i have to quickly charge my Moto G I either use 2000mA Nexus 7 charger or 1000mA Nokia charger.

Motoroal chipset restricts the charging to max 1000mA even if you use 2000mA charger.

Just make sure that the battery will not be damaged by 1000mA. Each battery has a limit, upto which juice can be put in safely.

I had the same concern but Motorola itself recommend the same. I have been using Moto G for 9 months no issues so far with the battery.

Irrespective of the amount of current the charger can output, the actual current drawn will only be what the phone can draw. So, even if you use a 10A charger, the phone will only draw about 500mA.

Its like connecting batteries in parallel.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Older versions of Android allowed users to configure the emergency dialer to be able to dial specific numbers. But Kit Kat doesn't have that option. I have to lock the phone as I have email etc on it. However, I want to dial my dad, brother, wife etc without having to unlock the phone. What app am I looking for? preferably free

Oh! I wasn't aware of such a thing. Can you tell me which other charger can be used? Which one do you use?

So is he still using the original charger or does he use another?

Thank You'll!
