Android version doesn't matter too much!

Suggestions are welcome!
Redmi2. Wait for 2GB RAM version if you can - that'll be future proof, else redmi is nice enough as a daily driver as is.

It is fairly reasonable, but depends on your luck. Go check with some local dealers what would they quote if you give it in exchange or sale. An accordingly quote approx 2k higher. Need to check the demand and resale value first.

Friends, need your suggestions. Planning to buy 2 mobile phones under 10k budget for my extended family members. Phones should have large display(5') and reliable. Usage is calls, games and occasionally taking photos. I ve shortlisted redmi note, Asus zenfone 5, huawei honor and micromax canvas fire. Please suggest if any other worthy phone to buy.
PS: two phones should not be the same.
Thanks

I would suggest Redmi Note and Yureka
While the current Redmi Note is a single sim, Yureka is a dual sim.
I have seen both the phone with my team mates in office and both have performed really well so far.
Not to mention, both are great value for money.

Now I'm not able to decide between 2 phones.

1. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9000
2. OnePlus One

I like the stylus very much and use it very often too. So Note 3 is pulling me towards it. But it is comparatively expensive
I loved the OnePlus One and it is the best VFM phone IMO. but it doesn't have the stylus

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 n9000 it is!
After thinking hard, finally ordered the phone. Final cost 29790.
The order status says "shipped". Eagerly waiting to hold the new one in my hand

By the way,
Anyone has any idea how much I can expect for my outgoing Samsung Galaxy Note n7000 in the second hand market?
Its 2 years and 3 months old and is in a better-than-decent condition running on Stock OS.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Dear members,

I have Celkon Millenia Epic Q550 mobile phone with Android Kitkat software.

I had installed the Olx app and then uninstalled it.

But the Olx icon is there in the app tray and it also opens when selected. However, the app is not listed in the "Apps" list under settings.

I want to remove this app and its icon as I don't need it.

Kindly let me know how to do this.

Thanks.
murillo.

@samurai; How about the htc Desire 620! If you do not mind moving away from stock Android then One Plus One is another option. My daughter in law has bought the Desire about three weeks, ako having managed to crack the screen of her Motorola

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

In case it is useful to anybody else...

For a several days, I have been wondering why my new battery is only lasting for a few hours. I looked at Settings->Battery and found that something called Android Media Server was top battery user at over 30%.

Google led me to this cure.

I cleared the app's data, deleted the thumbnails as recommended, deleted old photos, and thought I might as well delete all the music on the phone too, as I never use it.

Problem fixed. After a reboot, it took a while to get any gallery thumbnails back again, but Android Media Server is off the battery use list. Hopefully it will stay off.

One Plus One now available without any invite:

http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00T9BLYXI

Probably the best spec at 21k price.

I would say the Z1 as well. The OPO is simply pathetic in lowlight with stock/Google camera.

Neither are known for their camera prowess. She is looking for a mobile known for fantastic camera quality.

Will a phone with a 1" sensor be fine?

Till we have a mobile with a full frame sensor, I guess 1" will have to do!

I know you are asking for a android phone but if you can, consider Iphone 5c. Camera on this is far away from any phones in that range. Specially if you want to point and shoot camera, rather than getting into tweaking the setting and stuff. I recently shifted to opo from iphone 5s(used iphone 5 before that same camera as iphone 5c) and really miss that camera. I have a xperia z also and never found the camera anywhere close to iphone.
