This might be because they would have cleared up their stocks already. Otherwise it is logical for the dealers to quickly sell off the old stock before the new stocks arrives.
Maybe a few days back(with some cars still left in the stock), they would have been eager to sell you the city.

Enthusiasts willing to put 2 cents (well actually 20k US$) on the City Diesel, please refer Autoexpress-UK review comments on the 1.6L Earth Dreams diesel on CRV:

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/honda/c...ec-2014-review

Quote:
This new diesel has just 118bhp... a 0-62mph time of 11.2 seconds. There’s 300Nm of torque from 2,000rpm, but even so the CR-V needs revving hard. It never feels particularly brisk, and as the revs rise so does the noise, with refinement suffering if you’re in a hurry.
I bet early adapters will not find the engine (or the 1.5L variant) good in terms of refinement & overall performance (except economy). It would be better IMO to put money on the Vento/ Verna or Elantra or better bet (s) on Octavia/ Jetta.

It is not the new city. New city is not yet launched or unveiled anywhere let alone Thailand. Infact there are no clear spy pics or testing pics let alone such a clear picture. The image has been doing the rounds for a while now. It is someone's idea of what it might look like based on the new Fit/Jazz

looks like a 1.6 FGT. Could not find the specs, it does not specify even on the Honda UK site. A VGT should be be 130 ponies plus!

For me this is a Fit which is of UK model (searched in honda site) which has a boot with help of Photoshop.

Not sure whether Honda brings this to India with Diesel heart.

I do not think they have the 130bhp VGT variant of 1.6l Diesel they haven't put it on UK spec CR-V. I can bet the City diesel will be in same league 1.5L (for excise benefit) & around 110bhp (at most), unless they bring the 1.6L mill for use in multiple models.

Once they have the City then the Jazz will be easy. They share the floor pan, and I hear the Diesel will not fit the bonnet of the current (no longer in production) one.

That is true. The reason for bringing forward the launch of the next City, otherwise due in Q3 2014, is because the current/old car can't take the i-DTEC engine.

Separately, if anyone needs proof that the launch of the new City is imminent, check the October sales numbers - 31 Citys dispatched against total domestic sales of 11,214.

Even if the car in such a higher segment does not feel refined, I guess the new city diesel too will have the NVH issues.

Let's hope that at least the petrol engine is more refined & more fuel efficient than before.

The CRV is like 2 or 3 weight classes higher than the City. Same engine is a light weight City should be pretty brisk.

As far as the refinement, we already know how middling the Amaze is, so given that its essentially the same engine I did not expect any miracles.

Remember the City is far more upmarket that the Amaze which is entry level. So I am sure there will be more damping. The petrol can be easily tuned for about 5-8% more juice. Take the Civic, in India we have 130 bhp while the Europe/US gets 144 bhp. Simply ECU settings. Now that 91RON is standard even with BS-III this is a cinch.
