Re: VW Vento TSI Launched at Rs.9.99 lakhs

This is brilliant pricing from VW. Automatics are the future for our clogged metros, glad auto makers are finally delivering.

Between, are they going to sell DSG along side the older 1.6 6 speed auto ?

I would put that down to sales forecasting being totally off ....& on top of that, a mediocre product.

Honda and Hyundai sell petrol sedans in large numbers because the engines are known to be fun & frugal. The VW 1.6P... although solid & reliable, simply failed to provide any kind of excitement & feels old-school.

The 1.2Tsi on the other hand is in a league of its own...offering DI and turbo.

Technology sells and the waiting list for the Polo GT shows that

The difference in wheelbase is close to 96 mm.

Vento: 2552 mm

Have to disagree with you. At least in automatic guise, the Vento is far better to drive than the Verna or the City. The manual City is acceptable, but the old school 5 speed automatic made the automatic City terrible to drive. Agree that the 1.2 TSi + DSG would be even better though.

The same happened when I bought my Vento as well. And even after pointing this out, VW Thane refused to reduce the incidental charges.

42k for Insurance is a bit on higher side IMO.

Re: VW Vento TSI Launched at Rs.9.99 lakhs

What launch is VW boasting off. I went to the VW Showroom in South extension today and they were so disinterested in talking to me about the TSI. The salesman told me that the car has not come to the showroom. So i asked when is it expected since its been launched and it should have been here. He tells me i dont know, we have no information. I ask him if they have a Polo TSI for me to test drive? He tells me no sir we have the diesel one, and you will have to wait for 45 minutes as it has gone for refueling. Absolute Nonsense!!
I dont know if VW is serious about India? We bought my brothers Vento 2 years back from a North Delhi dealer and his attitude was the same, if not worse. Go to the showroom at Mohan Cooperative and you will get the same third class treatment.

GTO does that mean we can expect a TSI DSG Spec Rapid soon? I for one find the Rapid a little better looking and would choose it over the Vento.

Congratulations, I guess dealers closer to the VW plant have more of an idea about the car. Up north they are clueless. A sales exec helpfully told me that a 1.2l engine in the Vento is an impossibility.
