Re: Hyundai ix25 Compact SUV caught testing in India. EDIT: Named the Creta

Has anyone spied the inside space in terms of leg room and head room for the front and rear passengers ?
Up-front it does look spacious but rear might have limited head and leg room, courtesy the slopping roofline

On second thought I feel the Chrome strip is not a deal breaker at all. What it does sufficiently well is draw attention away from the visual bulk on the boot lid. Look at us, we never noticed the giant metal portion of the boot lid at all

The photographed version is most certainly not the top end model. The silver Creta in the background looks better equipped than the red one due to those chrome door handles and the shark-fin antenna.

The interiors appear a bit gaudy due to excessive beige accents. Moreover, I don't personally like the location for the rear number plate. And won't that thick C-pillar cause a huge blind spot?

oh my eyes!

the chrome on the window sills? Seriously Hyundai? I mean sure most Indians love a bit of chrome but lining entire windows in thick chrome strip is about as pathetic it can get. And yes anyone who drives around in that abomination will be judged pretty harshly by me.

The chrome on the grey Creta will not be standard for the SXO variant. I guess Hyundai will market all the chrome accessories through the dealers. They must have kitted one car to check out as to how it looks. Yuck.
Also there seems to be an overdose of beige on the interiors. Hope they will offer an all black trim as well.

Grey (or Stardust???) Creta - Looks a bit odd to me - has chrome detailing in fog lamp area

Grey (or Stardust??) again - has the gorgeous diamond cut alloys + shark-fin antenna + Chrome detailing on rear bumper - Also careful inspection will reveal rear parking sensors also on the black portion of the bumper

This "might" be the Twilight Blue color?
Or am I wrong?

Re: Hyundai ix25 Compact SUV caught testing in India. EDIT: Named the Creta

From what we have seen so far:

1) It will be offered with all colour options of the Verna 4S - Phantom Black, Pure White, Red Passion, Stardust, Sleek Silver - and one or two more colors, maybe Midas Gold or Retro Shine.

2) The SX is a pretty loaded variant, with -
Fully Automatic Temperature Control with Cluster Ioniser,
(possibly) Rear AC vents,
Tilt & Telescopic Steering,
Advanced Informative Supervision Cluster (same as the Elite i20),
2 DIN Audio with 1 GB Memory,
Multi-Function Steering,
Flippy "Foldable" Keys,
2 Airbags + ABS,
Unique TALL Fog Lamps,
Dual Tone Rear Bumper,
Clean Silver Alloy Wheels,
Turn Indicators on ORVMs,
Body-colored Door Handles,
Chrome Garnish on Rear Number plate,
Roof Rails,
Short "Stubby" Antenna,
Blackened A & B Pillars,
Rear washer + wiper,
(possibly) Reverse camera + sensors,
Projector type headlamps,
LED DRL & Positioning Lamps.

3) The SX (O) has all of the above, and -
7" Touchscreen Navigation Infotainment System,
Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels,
Chrome Door Handles,
Shark-fin Antenna,
(possibly) All-Leather interiors,
Keyless "Smart Key" entry,
Start-Stop button,
(possibly) Automatic headlamps,
(possibly) Rain-sensing wipers.

I expect a few more features to be carried over from the Elite i20 & the i20 Active, such as Automatic-folding ORVMs with Welcome function, Adjustable Rear seat headrests, etc.

Add that to a 1.6L diesel pot with ~125 PS power and ~260 Nm of torque, with semi-decent riding and handling capabilities, and it could be the next segment bestseller at the 13-13.5 lakh OTR mark.

And a diesel automatic option as well, possibly 6-speed? Delightful!

^^ What about number of airbags on SX(O)? Will that also come with 2 airbags? This could be a deal breaking factor for some.

SXO will most definitely get 6 airbags, leather seats and could also get the Vehicle Stability management(VSM as Hyundai calls it) and hope it gets the cruise control.

Details are not clear at this point but ground clearance should be at least 200mm and we can expect 60:40 splits at least in the higher s/sx variants.

Re: Hyundai ix25 Compact SUV caught testing in India. EDIT: Named the Creta

Everything looks good except the name. Hyundai should have kept the original name ix25 as it is in-line with others like i10, i20. Creta sounds strange to me. How about Hyundai named it Ecoster (Ecosport+Duster) or Dusrano (Duster+Terrano) or Crosster (S-Cross+Duster)??

Re: Hyundai ix25 Compact SUV caught testing in India. EDIT: Named the Creta

Apart from the chrome strips, Creta looks uber cool with neat side profile.

I personally like the Pulled back headlights, black cladding which runs through the lower end of the car and 5 point wheel + diamond cut alloys.
Hyundai has placed a serious competitor for Ecosports and Duster

Any idea why Hyundai went for the name "Creta"?

Or you just get that chrome name removed and give it a more personal custom name
