re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

Like the looks. Not offensive in anyway and not too bland either. Interiors look good. Boot space with all seats up looks pretty ok-better than the XUV for sure. Thought it would come with 6 airbags in the top variant. Looks like that is not the case.

re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

Overall, a very nice UV with a pleasing design which should not offend anyone, unlike the KUV.

What is with this new handbrake design that is so much in style now -

The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched-cc_05.jpg

I think even the upcoming TATA Harrier has this!

I like that M&M has not skimped on safety - all 4 disc brakes and 2 airbags are standard. And the Emergency assist seems to be a useful feature too -

The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched-technology_06.jpg

Anyone noticed the glitter design on the dash near the left AC vent?

The cabin is "okay", but the third row seems to be very spacious. Also, the second row gets window blinds, very nice!

Pricing is good too. All that is left to see is how refined the cabin is (not a problem with Mahindras) and how sorted the ride quality is (big problem with Mahindras).

The Autocar review shows that the middle captain seats are on rails and do slide!

I think the pictures just above your post is a demo car fitted with all possible accessories, which is why it is so overdone with chrome. The pictures after your post show the native car, which looks much cleaner.

They were testing this combination with a different body (Bolero) sometimes back.

re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

Not a bad looking vehicle. However, I feel that the fog lamp and the surrounding plastic/chrome is too large.

ARAI economy is ~17kmpl. That would translate to a city economy of ~9kmpl and highway economy of ~13-14 kmpl. This, I feel, is too low for a diesel. Coupled with just a 45L fuel tank would mean frequent stops on the highway on those long trips.

In this class of vehicle the few things that customers will look for are carrying capacity (don't know how spacious those 3rd row seats are), fuel economy (looks to be on the lower side) and reliability (too early to say).

I have feeling that the mid-variants, especially the M6, will be the most popular.

Did someone say Marazzo is 'Shark' in Italian? I see the meaning as Swamp in Italian.... Any idea in which language does it mean Shark??

Diesel cars usually give 70-75% of their ARAI rated figs in city. My XUV gives 11 in NCR, friends Scorpio gives similar. This once should do 12-13 easily, not 9!
With a 6 MT , expect an easy 16-18 at 90kmph. Speaking of which at 90, Marazzo engine sleeps at 1800rpm

Boot space with third row up is more than that of XUV as visible here

re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

Here is a review from Car & Bike. The reviews till now are appreciating the product for fit and finish, light steering, precise gearbox and the quality of cabin. Seems like a worthwhile product from Mahindra after XUV. Way to go Mahindra and Tata!!

Marazzo is the Basque word for shark.

re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

Really like the way the car has come out. The exterior looks better than average and the car really has some shape from the sides. Though the rear quarters are not the right angles - with the rear lamp assembly as well as the chrome strip - However nothing is overdone in my opinion.

The interior on the other hand with previous generation XUVs are a way ahead - they still need to keep up with the guys in Tata. Overall this is some sort of a what we want car for MUV buyers within the less than 20 bracket.

Would love to learn more about the details in the Team BHP review.

Couple of other things I note :

As marked in the Autocar review - with 2 armrests and a new hand brake - the storage area between the front seats would be somewhere not easily accessible.

The boot opener / handle looks unique to any Mahindra.

Doesnt the top end get curtain aribags ?

Window blinds - finally !

New Hexa like ORVMs

I know its a bit too early again to make the above comments - but couldnt resist

re: The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched

Marazzo and E2O Plus share a similar design on their side profile:-

The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched-e2o-plus-side-profile.jpg
While E2O Plus has it designed protruding outwards,

The Mahindra Marazzo MPV. EDIT: Now launched-marazzo-side-profile.jpg
Marazzo seems to have it slammed in!

I believe that when the Renault Lodgy has all this at a cheaper price, why should someone opt for Marazzo over Lodgy in the present state? Only once the Marazzo is offered in Automatic and Petrol versions, will it make more sense for me as a buyer to look at Marazzo because Lodgy does not offer all these engine and transmission options.

Lodgy 85PS costs about Rs.3.33/Km at the rate of Rs.70/L of Diesel (with ARAI Mileage of 21.02KMPL).

Lodgy 110PS costs about Rs.3.5/Km (same price at ARAI Mileage of 19.98KMPL).

While Marazzo costs about Rs.3.98/Km (same price at ARAI Mileage of 17.6KMPL).

So. it is costlier to buy, run and has no distinguishing feature when compared to Lodgy 110PS RxZ variant [maybe apart from LED DRL (Lodgy has Halogen DRL), Projector Headlamps (Lodgy has Halogen conventional reflective lamp), Automatic AC (Lodgy has Manual), ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts (Lodgy does not have them)].

But still, I believe that these can be sacrificed for a similar cheaper product and with quite a lot of similar features and is cheaper to run. For me, the Lodgy just comes out as a better MPV now with the prices of Marazzo out. Just my view on the comparison with nearest competitor.

Hi, it was a front wheel drive and monocoque body.

I had the opportunity of traveling in it in the interiors of Solapur long time back and remember the ride wasn't jarring on non existent roads.
