Well, it's not like I won't 'buy' if it doesn't offer the option of a rear wash-wipe, but it will certainly turn off a lot of potential buyers. A rear washer-wiper isn't a very premium feature.

I drive an Elite i20, and it doesn't have a rear washer-wiper. Not something I cannot live without, but when I am paying a hefty premium for a sub-4m car, I expect it to have basic niceties like a rear washer-wiper, front armrest, rear parking sensors, steering mounted audio controls etc.

Warm Regards

It's not about whether one would buy a car or not based on presence of the rear wiper. It's more about the fact that car makers consider these features as luxury or optional when they are clearly an absolute necessity.
Through the evolution of timeline of safety and features in automobile industry some features/things should've been standard by now but unfortunately it isn't the case. Some examples:
1. Rear wash and wipe.
2. Height adjustable driver's seat.
3. Rear split folding seat backs.
4. Proper sized ORVMs.

The above mentioned features are not luxury or comfort features, but daily use-necessity features if you really think about it. For 4mtr low slung cars like the Baleno or the Ciaz, it would be good to have height adjustable seats for shorter folks. In rainy seasons, one can't be expected to get out of their cars after every 100 metres and wipe their rear glass. It's a safety feature which is unfortunately omitted from base models of almost every car under 8-9lakhs ex-showroom category. Long goes the list of the omissions from Indian cars that it's hard to choose the base models of some cars which are sometimes very good VFM otherwise but don't offer some very common features.

I doubt they will hit the Nexon much. Nexon is on the lower end of the price bracket, many buyers like me who did not want to stretch will be happy with Nexon.

Ecosport Titanium+ and S buyers and the XUV 300 W8 and W8(O) will likely jump to Hyundai Venue.

Absolutely right! XUV was expected to dent Nexon sales but i don't see that happening (Yet). There is a big price difference between Brezza / Nexon and XUV / Venue. Ecosport lies in between with variants in both the buckets.

XUV has been successful in creating a new sub-segment (based on price) within the sub-4 metre SUV space and Venue will commercialise / regularise it.

You've hit bulls-eye on this aspect I am one such XUV 300 W8 potential buyer, who is now keenly watching out for Venue's launch, specifications and pricing

Hyundai Venue bookings open at dealer level. Select Hyundai dealerships have begun accepting bookings for an amount of ₹50,000.

Do we've any web link for the launch? Venue seems a true disruptor if packaged and priced well... just about ticks all boxes for most people in general...How I wish they could have launched an year earlier and I would have happily put my bet over the ecosport AT though not much to complain there except for the not so refined AT box.

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

Any information on what time is the India launch, and if they will be live streaming it? Hyundai USA have a live stream link which starts at 8:15 pm IST. Will they have the India launch and global launch simultaneously?

By the way, found this small clip on Hyundai USA's YouTube channel -

And a GIF as well (not sure if it's Venue though) -

Update:

Debut of Venue is later today, at 8-30 PM, on board a cruise ship, somewhere in the sea waters between Mumbai and Goa.
So yes, they are syncing up with the global launch.

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

The gif is from US Sonata, Hyundai's take on Carmy and Accord rival.

When they say reveal, does that mean releasing versions, features, engines blah blah...or also the price? (since it'll be different in different regions of the world - I guess that'll be revealed in the 'On board Cruise ship launch')

For our market, the launch ( including prices) is speculated to be in May.

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

The compact SUV will be revealed on April 17 in India and in New York simultaneously, showing just how important the model is for the Korean brand.

Some popular YouTubers (creators) are flown to New York for the same event, I suppose.

Technical Guruji, Geekyranjit, Mumbiker Nikhil, MostlySane

Expect some interesting content!

Re: The Hyundai Venue SUV (aka Carlino)

Well, Hyundai India just tweeted New York Auto Show's live stream link to follow Venue's launch, so they're not live streaming the India launch. Disappointed!
