The Dealer network upgrade was publicly stated in December 2022, glad to see it executing quickly. In Whitefield Bangalore, the service centre was closed for a week, officially due to renovations.

Also the launch of SUV in 2023 was revealed last year during Honda City Hybrid launch.

So far seems the company and its dealers are working on some internal clock, without leaking news much.

re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

New Honda SUV to be unveiled by mid 2023:

Quote:
Honda is readying a brand-new midsize SUV for India that will make its global debut by mid-2023. Earlier this month, the carmaker released a teaser of the upcoming SUV, giving us a sneak peak of what the SUV could look like. It will be based on an updated version of the platform used by the Amaze in India, and will likely share its powertrain options with the Honda City.
However, the price announcement will take place closer to the festive season this year.

Along with the upgrading the dealerships, I hope Honda also updates their website. Their current website is stuck in the 90s. Compare that to the websites of Tata Motors, Kia, or even Maruti - they are all miles ahead.

Looks like they did note your comment.
Honda India website is refreshed after a very long time.

New Honda SUV for India spied for the first time.

Quote:
Spy shots confirm that the new Honda SUV for India resembles the Honda HR-V and WR-V sold abroad.

Will debut in India in the coming months, with a price announcement expected during the festive season.

re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

Expected the HR-V but from the recent leaks, looks like the two "new" SUVs are going to be the global WR-V and a 4m+ WR-V with lengthening surgery rather than a lifted City (ie HR-V).
Guess my 3rd City has to continue serving us till a proper alternate comes up. (or till our Scorpio-N delivery comes through, at the very least before 2067).

re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

Hope Honda gives it a good infotainment along with fully digital instrument cluster. The CVT is inevitable but Honda does tune their CVTs pretty well. Still, a manual transmission on offer even on the top variants will make it attractive and differentiate it from the competition.

re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

I really want Honda to step up and bring good interiors in their vehicles, was very much disappointed to see the interiors of the new globally unveiled WR-V, it looks a decade old.

re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

They have taken their own sweet time to come up with this. So it better be good with Market leading features (Drivetrain, Infotainment etc). Can't expect too much from Honda in terms of price though...

re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

Looks like there is a floating screen at the center, so the interior are inspired by modern Hondas ( Accord and Civic) not the Asia specific Amaze (WRV)

I might be dreaming, but!

The roofline is NOT swooping, essentially hinting at a larger wheelbase than WR-V or for that matter an HR-V.
The second glass window is almost squarish and the third quarter glass has an upward swap.

The Honda that fits all this is the CR-V.

Honda is reluctant to leave their comfort zone, still better to be late than never

The spy shots indicate the quarter glass with the bottom sloping upwards is a part of the rear door (like the Suzuki Ignis). Also, there is a very prominent shoulder line that itself slopes up with the glass (again, like the Suzuki Ignis) - not a characteristic of the HR-V e:HEV, ZR-V, CR-V, BR-V or WR-V.

In the ZR-V and CR-V the panel gap (blue) separating the rear door from the rear fender would be continuous with the strip (green) separating the quarter glass from the window. The panel gap in the spy shot is visible and makes it clear that isn't the case. Even in Hondas with the quarter glass in the rear door, like the new WR-V, the shoulder line (red) doesn't slope upwards with the quarter glass.

Clearly this is a new SUV entirely.

Good catch. Really hope that means it ditches the City's entertainment system too (although the HR-V for ASEAN markets does have a pseudo-floating version of the City's infotainment system, so it's hard to say).
