The gear lever boot(which looks like lifted straight from 1st generation Zen) and 4 speed AT transmission are both from same era.

Jokes aside, it will be fun to watch Jimny’s comparison with Thar purely on off-road situations now since it’s a reality.

Also, with the miserable fuel economy of Thar, this can be a good option for people who don’t like buying diesels. I hope 4*4 hardware comes with automatic transmission .

Dealers seem to be unaware of the bookings. I just called a couple of them and they did not know. The E-Booking option shows the existing cars in the dropdown, there is no Jimny or Fronx option to select.

What is this Maruti!!, if you announce then be prepared to accept the bookings.

Have to say, with no prices being unveiled this was very underwhelming. Basically comfirmed everything we knew. Seems to me MS is unfazed by the pressure from the RWD Thar.

This looks stunning and practical IMHO, no doubt it is going to be a straightaway hit. India loves Maruti and when you deliver what the market wants, failure chances are too low.

IMO, probably they want to gauge the response and reveal the price later. The pros in favor of Jimny over Thar RWD are the 4 doors, AWD, more space and strong brand pull. Anything in the range of 14L - 18L can go well with the buyers. Now Mahindra will wait to price their 4 door version. Anyways interesting times ahead for the buyers. God bless competition.!

Same same. I called a bunch too and no clue what so ever. Even the brochures on the site are uploaded wrong. Very amateurish work Maruti!

Well, any hopes of the 3 door just evaporated. But looking at it, I think I could live with ripping out the back seat and just creating one large space. I rather like that cabin tbh. Nice ‘enough’ without being too modern. Just about right for my liking. Now to see whether they’ll give us an auto (im perfectly fine with the 4 speed) with 4WD and pricing.

The pricing will be premium. No way this will be priced below the Thar with similar spec.

All recent launches have been overpriced. All the interest will fade as soon as pricing is announced.
