Is the swift figure as per the MID? I get similar figures with 100% AC in Mumbai bumper to bumper.

Tyre patch upgrade to 195 also might be causing slight drop.

No these are the actual figures calculated on a tank full to tank full method. The MID shows 14.8-15.0. Even mine is running on 195. Best City Figure till date is 16.2 with 50% AC, and most of the running on 15th August with empty roads.

Oh cool.. So that's the avg for swift with fatter rubber. I guess all the 17-18 in city must be 165 rubber. The worst I have got is 13 tankful to tankful

Even I was amused with those kind of figures. I safely assume 195 to be atleast giving -1kmpl than the OEM 185 size. Btw, what are you getting on highways? The worst I have got is an in-city figure of 12.3 and a best of 19.6 on highways with sedate speeds of 80-100.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Recently on my trip to kodaikanal my swift DDIS returned with figures of 18.8 (as per the MID figures) with 100% AC.

During one of my trips from Pune to Bangalore i got figures of 21.2 with 100% AC. I was constantly maintaining a speed of 80 km/hr and not revving the engine above 2000 RPM.

On highway runs I have got as high as 22 on the mid which will be more like 21 tankful to tankful. This excludes the city run as I reset the mid once I hit the highway. Most of it was 80-100 with occasional 120 and 2 people on board. Minimal luggage

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Swift fuel efficiency: 15.64 kmpl in City with 90% A/C and with 185/70 R14 MRF ZLO.
The mileage dropped by 1.3 kmpl after Tyre upgrade from 165 to 185.

Hyundai Eon Magna+: 13 kmpl in City and 19.20 kmpl on highways with 80% A/C in both the cases.

In my opinion, the drop in mileage is nothing compared to the added safety in handling & braking department. 165 is too weedy for a car like swift.

I agree to that. The ride, handling and braking has definitely improved a lot. The car looks good with 185.

These last couple of posts have taken off my apprehensions on getting low mileage on my swift. Come to think of it, 14 on 195 rubber with all ac in mostly bumper to bumper traffic is good.

However, I didn't expect the drop in mileage to be as high as 1.3 when upgrading from 165 to 185.

I have read some where that asymmetric tread pattern do contribute to lower mileage figures. We need some expert opinion to validate that info.

Here is an update. Completed my first full-tank FE check.

Average FE --> 12.67 kmpl (Filled up 35.96 lts @ Rs. 45.05/ltr)
