Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Just so they can quote these awards and sell at a slightly premium price.

Aside, not many surprises to the award winners in the respective categories.

few questions:

1. what's the best price i can offer the dealer.
2. Is there any Bhpian in Mumbai who can inspect the car.
3. I can live with MH car, but whats the cost for re-registering it in Bangalore.
I would skip the pre-facelift Civic fro 2008. It has horrible ground clearance issues. The car looks good though but you will need re registration within a year of purchase. Too many hassles for the car. Transfer to Bangalore and Re-registration. Better you find a car in Bangalore itself.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

My 2017 Honda City V MT (P) will complete 5 years this April. Although not in a hurry, I am having the itch to change the ride. Willing to take a plunge into the pre loved segment this time.

The choice this time is a proper SUV(Space offered by the city has spoiled me and CSUV is no longer considered) and no more sedan.

Would like to have an idea of approximate budget for some models that I am scouting for. I am currently based in Bengaluru and place of consideration is either Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar. The models in fray(in no particular order)

1 - Tata Safari STORME : A dream from the college days. If I stumble upon a well kept post 2015 varicor model, what should be the ideal budget for it.

2 - Tata HEXA : Looking specifically for the top end automatic(XTA). Found some interesting ones on OLX(e.g. 2019, 33k run with asking price of 17.5L). What should be an ideal price bracket for this?

3 - Ford ENDEAVOUR : Again looking specifically for the sweet 3.2L motor. Not many examples available. Should it be a point of concern as Ford has now exited India. Also, what should be an ideal price bracket for this?

Not considering Fortuner as I have never been interested by it and find it overpriced a lot even in used car space.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi Experts,
What should be the appropriate price for an Innova Crysta 2.8 GX Automatic - 2016 model. Vehicle is Bangalore registered and done 30k with service history - company leased vehicle 1st owner and will be directly transferred from company to buyer.

Tyres look good for another 10-15k Kms. Insurance is up for renewal - cost approx 20k for comprehensive.

Asking price is 17.9 lacs, now quoting 17 lacs.

Its Toyota certified vehicle for 1 year / 10000 kms and 3 service coupons (only labor free)

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hello BHPians,
Need a little help guys. I just came across a Ford Ecosport Titanium Plus Diesel registered in Haryana. Car is Aug 2018 registered and ran 18000 kms so far. It was owned by an army officer. I have always liked the Ecosport and always dreamt of buying a new one but now that is not possible. Dealer is asking for 8 lacs.
How much should I pay?
Would it be good decision to buy this considering ford's exit from india?
HELP GUYS!!!

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

How much depreciation % could one expect for a 3 year old luxury segment of (e.g. x3, q5, xc60 bucket). So around 2018 to 2019 models..

₹ 8 lakhs feels like an okayish price for a 3-year old, less-driven Ecosport right now. With the Ford brand's exit from the Indian car market, this could be the best time to pick up an used EcoSport.

Yes, you don't need to worry about spares and support. All car manufacturers are mandated to provide service and warranty support for 10 years after a model is phased out, this holds good for companies stopping their operations as well.

First get the vin and check if any recall is going on for the vehicle.

Regarding service it may not be as smooth or hassle free down the line. Spares which are not readily available might take time. (Experience with a relative’s cheverolet)

The biggest hassle unlike a normal second hand purchase is that you would take a good amount depreciation hit too and would find it hard to sell the vehicle say after 4-5 years of use due to the Ford circumstance. (Maybe you might get 3-4 lakhs if you are lucky)

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

What would be a fair value for an October 2018 Hyundai Tucson, single owner, 20k run, GL(O) Diesel (the one with sunroof)?
The on-road price at the time would have been around ~29. I am thinking of a 30% depreciation from there. Is this a fair value?

Used cars prices in Bengaluru are ridiculous. I saw a similar car albeit 2019 model GLS 4WD AT, 2nd owner vehicle asking 25.5L. Is the below car worth paying 25L. Purchasing this means you’d become the 3rd owner.

+1 Car pricing in Bangalore is indeed crazy!

1. Used car prices are on average +25% from Delhi NCR
2. For example a used 1st owner Eco Sport would price in NCR Vs Bangalore

This is what even I feel, does not make sense buying a used car. The used cars are priced ridiculously high, thanks to the cartel. The Tucson I was looking at was quoted 22.5 for a 3+ year old car (22% depreciation from on-road price) and I do not even know the insurance status.

Atleast 5 lacs above the market rate, also it's already booked.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

How much can I expect for a Baleno Alpha 2016 November model with 59180 KM on the odo. The car is Bangalore registered, I am the second owner, and is in very good condition mechanically and cosmetically barring few scratches. Online evaluations from Cardekho and Spinny is showing around 4.7-5.3L before physical evaluation.
Reason for selling : Moving to automatic CSUV.
