Why not do this - Finalize a buyer and an agent for transfer of ownership. On the day of delivery - go to the agent and submit the transfer papers (your brother can bear the cost), and the buyer transfers the money and takes the vehicle.
The time for transfer is now 45 days in Bangalore, not sure about Delhi but the point is that the transfer may not be completed by RTO by May.

Thank you, I will suggest this to him.

My question is, what would be the minimum asking price for us to sell outside?
If I have to take, I will have to transfer the car to Hyderabad which means 90K for Road tax and 10/15k for transportation.
I am thinking of putting an ad in Tbhp classifieds for 8 Lakhs. If he gets a buyer, I will let it go. If he doesn't get a buyer, I will buy it in 7.4L(brotherly discount) and bear all the cost. My ownership cost will be around 8.5L, which I think is ok for what he has installed in the car which already cost 9.7 L in Hyderabad. Some images follow.

Is it a good strategy?

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

A friend bought a Kia Sonet iMT HTK+ in Feb. Drove it for a few thousand km. Decided he didn't like the iMT. He wants to sell. What's the depreciation in the first two months considering that there has been a price hike since then? I may buy from him.

Not sure what is happening in Bangalore but it takes only 2 to 3 days in Delhi and NCR.

Just transfer it to yourself in Delhi itself. No need to pay anything extra. I have never changed the state of regeneration of any vehicle I have purchased. I am not sure how strict Hyderabad is about out of state vehicles but you are allowed to drive it for one year at least . You can always claim to be visiting! This is a non issue in North India. Just get some toll receipts or PUC from another state once a year and claim you came after that date. Yes, it is devious but I refuse to pay tax again when it has been paid in one state. It is one country after all. Luckily we don't have any such issues in North India. No one here would accept such a rule.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi Guys, I have been offered a 2012 Honda Brio S MT for 3.4 lakhs. Single Owner and around 40K run with new tyres. This is through a Dealer in Bangalore and the Car is in good condition (exterior and interior) and drove well. I am thinking of negotiating the price to 3 lakhs. Is this a good deal and also how is the maintenance of Brio since this has been discontinued. Seek your opinion and guidance.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hello Guys, I'm back with another proposal for a pre-owned Jeep Compass.

Model: JC Limited (o) 2.0 Diesel 4x4
Year: 2017
Mileage: 23400 Kms
Owner: 1
Asking price: 1765000

Considering it's a 5-year-old diesel top-end 4x4 what would be a fair price? I'm thinking between 14-15L.
Considering the uncertainty of diesel vehicles being deregistered that are 10+ years old, this could become a pain if it's implemented across India. I will be investing around 15 big ones for 5 years
I'm yet to see the vehicle, I'll do a thorough tbhp pre-owned PDI sometime in the next couple of days, before that I would love to hear different perspectives of bhpians.

There are other newer models available but the prices quoted are clearly out of my budget, considering 15 itself is a push.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hello friends, I managed to find another 2019 endeavour 3.2 titanium plus, this time with a very low odo reading of 8k kms and in black, which is just the colour I wanted. Asking price is atrocious for a car from a company that has exited the market. What price should I offer for it? Tempted to see if I could get it for 35l.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hello guys, I'm planning to upgrade my car and someone I know has shown interest in my current one. I want to quote the correct price (win-win for both). What would be a fair value?

Model: Volkswagen Vento 1.6 MPI (Petrol Manual Transmission)
Variant: Highline (top variant)
Year: December 2015 (6.5 years old approx)
KM: 52,000
City: Kochi
Condition: Almost mint condition exteriors (minor swirl mark like scratches on the exterior), New OEM headlamps (replaced in 2022), tires changed at 40k, new ABS sensors (2021), upgraded android HU & reverse cam, clean interiors.

Please share your thoughts.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

We recently sold off our 2011 Innova VX for Rs.5.5L to a dealer I know. At the time of selling, the car's odo was at 1,96,750 Kms, in which we did 1.2L Kms in 6 years of ownership and we were the second owner. And, has insurance vaild till Feb 2023.

Could've got Rs.50k-1L more but this car required new set of tyres (old one had lasted around 70k Kms), suspension overhaul and others, etc. And, the reason for selling off the car was we wanted to go for AT vehicle this time since the car is driven mostly in the city limits.

And, BTW, this car was bought in the year 2016 when the odo was at around 75k Kms for Rs.10L.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi

I was contemplating buying a used XUV 500 AT for highway use

I'm thinking of going for the 2nd facelift model with the increased power output. What's the maximum I should be looking at spending on one? There are low mileage cars, but the asking prices are very high (ex- 18.5L for a 2019 single owner 25K run W11(O) AT AWD).

My city is Kochi, Kerala

I'm not too keen in spending a lot on one - my reasoning being they'll depreciate highly because of the XUV 700.

Could you help me ascertain a fair price for it?

here are 3 examples I found

Example 1 (the only one I have seen in person)
Variant: W11 (O) AWD AT
Color: White
Registration Year : 2018 Sep
No of Owners : 2
KMs Run: 81,600
Tyres: all 4 need replacement

Complete service history with dealer (I personally checked) + extended warranty till 07.2023
Asking price: 15L + dealer commission

I found a niggle with this car - the instrument cluser gear display shows "N" even when the selector is in "P"

Example 2
Variant: W11 (O) FWD AT
Color: Black
Registration Year : 2019 June
No of Owners : 1
KMs Run: 70,000
Tyres: all 4 need replacement

No extended warranty ; asking price is 16L (no commission - listed by owner)

Example 3
Variant: W11 (O) AWD AT
Color: White
Registration Year : 2019 March
No of Owners : 1
KMs Run: 25,000
Tyres: Unknown - should be good due to less KMs

asking price is 18.5L + 1% commission

Thank you for your inputs

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi all, I’m looking to buy a used Fiat car, always wanted to own one. One brown Avventura has attracted me, which looks in good shape from pics. The car is with a dealer named cardilwado in Gurugram. I want to know if anyone has experience with this dealer. Are they reliable enough? And if possible can any fellow bhpian from nearby check out this car for me. It will be hugely helpful for me as I will have to travel 200 kms to have a look at this car. https://wa.me/p/7861399550540411/919315200053

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

What is the right price to pay for a 9 month old (Aug 2021) Jeep Compass Model S petrol AT in Mumbai? It is listed for 28.25 L on Carwale.

5500 KMs run
Petrol AT
Model S top spec
Single owner

New model OTR is 31 L.

I think 28 is on the higher side. Around 25 would be a good deal assuming car has no problems. What do others think?

This was listed on BMW premium selection
BMW 320d July 2018 sport shadow edition for 31 lakhs. 34k driven
Link : https://www.bmwusedcars.in/buy-used-...ies/19731.html

Can someone advise on the proper price on this? Would be really helpful.

Also any information on bmw premium selection warranty if anyone has availed these before?

Hi, is this under BRI? if not haggle for more.

28-29ish would be good under these market conditions if everything checks out.

Ask them for a full service history if its all ok then you can go for premium selection warranty also.

You can DM if any questions regarding premium selection. (I recently got mine from premium selection).

Hope this helps.
