BHPian ![]() | ![]() Hello All, Finally I have made my mind to replace my Skoda Rapid (2011 December with 1,54,000 KMS on ODO). I am seriously thinking of following two options (I know Sedan vs SUV comparison is not a good idea, but I am open for both) Option-1: Skoda Superb Model: L&K, Diesel ODO:23K Model: 2018 July Place: Bangalore Ownership: First, private company CEO's drive. Condition: Very good, minor scratches Price offered:25.5L Option-2: VW Tiguan Model: Highline, Diesel ODO:25K Model: 2017 Aug Place: Bangalore Ownership: First, Individual. Condition: Very good , almost no scratches. Price quoted:25L Dear members your feedback/input would be highly appreciated. I planning to bite the bullet before end of this month. Thanks in advance ![]() Last edited by hillsnrains : 19th January 2021 at 20:38. Reason: Place added. |

1) Superb carries better luxury badge than Tiguan. 2) Superb will be in Indian market forever, so spares availability must not be a problem. We cannot say that for Tiguan. 3) Ride and seat comfort will be better in Superb. (refer to team bhp review of Tiguan) 4) Looks. Boy-oh-boy, it will turn heads even after a decade because its a dream car for many. 5) Superb is 2018 model, Tiguan is 2017 model. 6) Cool seats and better interiors. 7) Its Skoda's flagship product, there is no way they can afford bad user experience. 8) Its SUPERB. What you may miss in Superb. 1) GC 2) highway ride is slightly boat like,(as per reviews) 3) Large panoramic sunroof, if that matters to you.

1) Enjoy the luxury of L&K over the Highline. 2) Sorry, but the Tiguan is not the butch SUV that make you feel a SUV owner. 3) Space - Acres, the Superb over the Tiguan. I'll leave you there, good luck.

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Since you're breaching the 25L mark, I'd suggest calling Skoda and checking their offers on the 2020 model offers. I believe discounts were ranging from 4-7 lakhs depending on variant and colour. |

Car was sold in 20 hours ! ![]() More than anything I was happy they almost matched my expectation. I sealed the deal, they came home with all the paperwork, completed in 30minutes and I was standing at the gate with a heavy heart as my Punto was driven away. ![]()

| ![]() Hello all, I am Planning to sell/exchange my Baleno in the coming few months. I had a couple of questions around this and would appreciate advice. Details: - Alpha model, Petrol, Manual - Mfg - May 2017 - ODO - ~32500Km - Condition: Fair to good. 3-4 dents and scratches occurring in slow moving Bangalore traffic. Bumper may need replacement. Tyres changed to Continental MC5 (same size) at 20k Km, all 4 brakes replaced last servicing before lockdown. - Service History - All done on time. Questions: - Should I get the damages fixed before selling or getting quote? Local guy quoted me around 10-12k to fix all issues. Going through Maruti service would be ~25k and potentially could use insurance for this. - Is it better to sell directly to individuals or to dealers such as Cars24 or exchange for a new car? Apart from benefit of no RTO work for transferring RC, are there any issues with going to dealer/exchange, like not changing RC which people have encountered? - What price should I expect? Thanks. |

| ![]() Looking to buy a Used Hatch (2-4 year old) for around 5 lakhs in Chennai. I want it to have a sufficiently powerful & smooth petrol engine, decent highway manners and be quite easy to maintain. I came across a couple of options and would like to know your feedback. 1) 2018 Feb Maruti Ignis 1.2 Zeta, 9,xxx kms - 5.19 lakhs 2) 2017 Jan Maruti Ignis 1.2 Zeta, 22,xxx kms - 4.84 lakhs (in Trivandrum, but since its my hometown, i don't mind it) 3) 2019 Mar Ford Figo 1.2 Titanium Blu, 11,xxx kms - 6.05 lakhs - slightly on the higher side for me but since its the top of the line, I don't mind looking at it. These three are from Cars24 and I'm yet to physically check any of them. I really love using their interface and also did find good options. Though I could see plenty of Tiagos and did think of it because of the GNCAP rating, my memory of driving the boring petrol put me off. I currently drive a Hyundai Eon/ Tata Nano and any upgrade would actually be a safer option but trying my best to find one that suits most. |

| ![]() Hey folks, One of my relative is in the market for buying an used car. He is being offered a 2013 Skoda Rapid Automatic - 34,000 kms run for 4.75 lakhs. This will be his first car plus he is buying the car for his frequent hospital runs as his wife is expecting. So I had suggested him to go for a tried and tested brand like Maruti/Hyundai/Honda. However, he looks quite impressed by Rapid. Rapid is a good car but buying a 7 year old automatic, that too a DSG, sounds problematic to me. Looking for some suggestions on whether this is a good deal. Thanks in advance. |

| ![]() Slight correction, Rapid never got the 1.2 TSi & DSG combination. It had the 1.6 Mpi engine & 6 speed torque converter gearbox. Both the engine & GB are old school, & quite robust. |
