re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

My dad just bought a 2005 Feb. indica DLX, second owner(transferred between the same family on the same address) for 2 lakhs. The car was said to be in literally showroom condition with 51k kms on the odo(verified). And it was the top end model.

Is the price okay???

Sirji, are you sure? It looks to be on the higher side for me (though I would not say a no if somebody pays me 2.5L )

As I said, the car is currently with the second owner which will make the next buyer to be the 3rd. Car has got some good amount of scratch/dent marks. Though engine-wise, it is definitely in a good shape.

The price for a used Skoda Yeti Elegance seems very low. Nothing under 17.5 for a 2012 model with 15 k on the clock. In Bangalore. That's a six lakhs differential! Am I missing something in the evaluation tool? Thank you.

Disagree. My dad uses an 8 year old DLG Turbo Indica V2 which has served him very well indeed. It has now just crossed 50K kms on the Odo. Bought in May 2006. Good vehicle overall. As per recent offers received the price hovers between Rs 2 lacs and 2.25 lacs!

Thanks for the replies mohandasnikhil and shankar.balan.

The car is in extremely good condition and has a good music system and remote locking.

Honestly, up north, people would probably pay half of 2 lakhs for that indica.

Prices down south especially in Bangalore and Chennai tend to hold up better.

The seller is asking close to 6 lakhs for the vehicle.
I have a soft corner for Jazz, and I wouldnt mind paying a little premium.

Oh and the market is Chennai.
The seller is willing to negotiate. And apparently this Jazz is a company leased car (by the seller's employer). Is there anything I need to be aware of? Insurance, registration... is it all a simple transfer?

Thanks for your time!

Recently a 2007 1.3 certified Getz from mahindra first choice was available in Pune. They had quoted 2.1lakhs. As this is a 1.1 I guess you can expect about 1.8 lakhs

Should I consider buying 2009 Fiat Punto Diesel(Dynamic), 35k on the ODO for 2.75l ? Although the asking price fits T-BHPs used car prices, I just want to be sure about how reliable an used Punto would be as the car will be needed daily.

Hello,

The price of Rs. 2.75 lacs for 2009 Fiat Punto Dynamix Diesel with 35,000 kms on ODO is good one.

If the car is well maintained with no accident history then there should be no issue using this car daily for next 3 / 4 years. Hope the tyres have been changed recently otherwise you will have to replace them immediately after buying the car.

Thanks,
