Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi guys, I've come across a peculiar situation. I'm eyeing a Honda City 2010 model registered as 2013.

Seems like the car was registered in Andhra Pradesh before as a 2010 model and was later moved to Haryana and registered there. The car's current RC mentions the old registration number and is valid from 2013 to 2028. The RC also mentions the manufacturing year.

The dealer is asking 2.6L for it, which is frankly what other people selling a 2010 model ask for.

Why am I particularly interested in this car? Because I'd be able to run it for two extra years at the price of a 2010 car.

Why am I a bit wary? First, it's a HR registration and I am located in Delhi, so I'm a bit skeptical while registering the car in Delhi, the car would be registered as 2010 to reflect its true manufacturing year or it would reflect the RC's date?

Any help would be appreciated!

If it were on registered date, everyone with old Innovas, Fortuners, Scorpios etc.would do the same

How is Toyota Prius hybrid as a used car? I saw one on sale for 6 lakh. Don't know the details, but even assuming that it's 8 year old and done 1 lakh km, isn't 6 lakh low? Any problems with prius?

That's true. The car is registered in Gurgaon, and I guess that comes within the NCR 15 year rule. Probably not a good idea dabbling in it.

Hi Guys,
Need some advice here please.
Friend of mine has an DL registered Innova which is presently in Goa. Model is July 2009. Diesel. Wants to transfer it but does not have the original invoice (lost while moving house) and says that the DL RTO will not give him an NOC as the car is 10 years old. He has an address in Goa. What are his options here? He is willing to pay and get it registered in Goa.

Thanks a lot.
Regards,
SS

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Friends,

Need a help.
I am contemplating on buying a used Duster RXZ 110 AMT. 2016 model with about 50000 KM on odo. This is in Bangalore.
1. Can you please suggest what could be a good price to buy this vehicle? (Single owner, no accidents , good condition )
2. Are there any known likely issue with this model/year that I need to specifically be careful for and check ? ( In addition to the Tbhp used car checklist ?)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Check the clutch and automatic transmission - if the clutch has been changed under warranty that's great. The manual version is bulletproof to my knowledge.

Did he just buy it or is it an old car he's currently using in Goa?

I doubt the susegad goa cops are going to bother about chasing after 10 year old innovas for road tax, so continue to drive it if it is his own old car.

Then drive it to Delhi and scrap it there, or scrap it in Goa, after a few years.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

I am in the market for used Hexa. Automatic or manual both options are open for me. What is the fair price for 2017 or 2018 model. Both the carwale and cardekho have the asking price ranging between 14 to 16 lacks depending upon model year and Km run. Also there is a misleading Ad on carwale for the same car with different asking prices from different dealers.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi All, I'm trying to sell our 2008 ANHC SMT (with RC valid until Dec 2023) registered and single hand driven in Chandigarh. We are the first owners and have maintained the car well - all maintenance and repairs at the dealership. Done 105,000 Km so far.

What should be a fair price to sell it to an individual? OBV quotes 2.60L, but when I check online, there are quite a few similar cars for sale listed at 3.5L-4L.

Please suggest if I am missing something?

Thanks!
