Could you please let me know if this fine -

Car : Audi A4
Year : 2013
Kms : 75000
Model : Diesel, 140 Bhp, Multitronic CVT
Asking price : 14 Lakhs
Regn : KA
Condition : Upto date serviced at company showroom with zero dep insurance. All records claimed to be clean.

Questions to experts -
I understand CVT isn't the best transmission, but for a sedate driver, shouldn't that be fine?
Also is Audi CVT more reliable than the VAG DSG box?
Given the price, if the price could be brought to 13L, is this a good deal?

Thanks.
Why don't you look at 320d's of a similar age? They should be priced in the same ballpark and you'll have a wider choice in the used car market. It's said to be quite reliable too and regular service isn't very expensive. Much better to drive than the FWD CVT A4 as well.

That's too much. To give a fair idea, in Jan my friend sold his 2012 Ritz ZXi, 2nd owner, Chennai registered car with 72k on odo with almost new tyres & battery, with proper service record (MASS until 60k, FNG there after) for 2L

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi,

I am in the market for used Toyota Fortuner 4x4 Automatic, but came across an unregistered Compass Trailhawk 4x4 in White Colour. It is of course brand new but is 2020 model. The dealer has offered me a discount of 2 Lakhs ex showroom. What could be the ideal discount I could push him for ? also does it make sense to go in for a Trailhawk ? BTW I do not require 7 seats.

Thanks.

True. Covai/Triupur registered vehicles are quoted premium prices & reasoning is cars will be well maintained. I doubt dealers will pay premium to the direct sellers citing this reason If all service records are in place with everything in order during personal inspection, that should do & not premium price based on location.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Same mfg year, same location, similar variants but priced at 1.5L lesser for the additional odometer running of 25K kms. I understand these are quotes, but assuming the prices to be final and condition of the car is at par, which one would be the right choice?

Second one - given the car is properly serviced and still has warranty. I feel a regular running car tends to be in better shape than the one that is rarely used.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Outlander has been on my mind for a while after seeing one in my apartment. I have read through most threads on outlander here and understand the low mileage, no/minimal company support situation. Have an FnG who will be able to help with regular maintenance. I can spend ~50K/yr on maintenance, and planning to use it for the next 3-4 years.

Recently came across a used Mitsu Outlander, 2010 model, 90K Kms, Single owner in Bangalore. Looks good; haven't driven yet.

What is the right price to quote? And any specific issues that I should look out for considering the age and model?

Hello,
I was looking at a pre-owned GLC. 2018 (single owner) 220d 20k Kms done. The deal I was asking for was 38 lakhs all inclusive. Is this low/high? What are the things to look out for as this is my first time dealing with the luxury used car market?

Folks,
Another car that I was looking at was a 2018 vrs 230 25k on the odometer, single owner and company serviced. The asking price was 24 lakhs. Any thoughts?

This is way too expensive. An eight year old A4 diesel won't fetch even 3 to 4 lakhs in Delhi NCR due to the the 10 year rule. In KA the prices are higher but I would not pay more than 8 lakhs for it. Try to get around 10 lakhs if possible. My family recently sold a 2014 A6 with around 50k kms for 11 lakhs. This was last year when the car was just 6 years old and it was an A6. Of course this in NCR pricing. I would have bought it myself except that I have a Passat which is essentially the same car. I tried to convince them to keep it but they bought a new Creta instead.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi guys,

Would be helpful if someone could guide regarding this for a relative in Kerala.

2015 Corolla Altis G CVT - company owned and well maintained - run around 40,000 kms.

What would be the ideal price for him to buy?

OTR price in 2015 was around 18 Lakhs in Kerala

If you consider 10% depreciation per annum = 8 Lakh
Half the price for 5.5 year old car = 9 Lakh
Pay premium for Toyota brand, low mileage, and condition ~ 10 Lakhs ( This is the upper most limit)

If the quoted price is higher than 11 L better go for City V CVT new.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi Everyone,

I have recently come across a Volvo XC 90 2008 registered HR number with the owner located in delhi. The car has run 83000 kms, and he is the third owner. It has a V8 petrol engine. What do you think should be the fair price of this volvo.

Regards

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hello All,

Firstly, this is going to be the first car in my family in over 10-12years, will occasionally be used on weekends, we are all new drivers, and though I've had people suggesting me to stick to a smaller hatchback, not really a fan of the options, I've been considering options like Verna, City, even a 2012 Civic, but the Verna and City listings seem overpriced for their age and Kms. Would appreciate feedback from all the experienced BHPians and help/guide me through the process.
@GTO @V12

I am currently looking at a 2016 Toyota Corolla Altis G Petrol(75K Kms), 1st owner, at a reliable car dealer probably run by a known YouTuber from Mumbai. I do not want to disclose the price just yet.
There is one other car as well, a 2016 Toyota Corolla Altis GL Petrol(50K Kms), 1st owner, again a reliable dealer from Borivali.
Yes, these are Manual cars, should it be a concern?
The OTR for G was 18.5L and for GL was 20.7L

Queries are:
1. How reliable is a MY2016 Corolla, no doubt Toyota makes some of the most reliable cars, but about these years of Corolla idk much about?
2. What instant or future expenses should I keep in mind before taking a leap? A ball park figure, maybe?
3. What should be the price for these 2 models?

Regards,
SAN
