Umm... how much is Diesel there? A rough calc for the last ten liters works out to 36.74 bucks per liter for the last 10k KM?

Hey KP Congrats for 80K, out of it how many KMs have been clocked with Pete's Tuning Box? Green Cotton filter if used otherwise also(without pete's tuning box) would bring any noticeable difference in the way car performs?

Right not it is Rs 36.76 for a litre.

My car has done 67000 kms with Petes.
Green filter will only make the engine a bit more free revving.
IMO, stick with stock filter if you are not getting a tuning box.

Lucky you We are at 40.16 now, "bracing" for a hike

Your car is a case study for the reliability of modern Hyundai Diesels WITH Pete's dabba!!! Here's to a quick 100,000!

Hi KP,

Does the rear bench( not just back rest) completely fold up to to make use of space as cargo ? And also does the rear back rest recline to some degree ?

Yes and Yes - we have both in the Getz. The rear seat and bench can be folded forward and hooked to the front neck rest to have a HUGE boot. And the seat reclines two levels (or three?)

Korean missile is about to reach the 85000 kms mark.
Got the timing chain checked @ 80k. Verdict : No noise, hence no need to change right now.
Clutch has become hard, but no noticeable slippage yet. Looks like the pressure plates have worn down.
Will get the new clutch around the 90k mark.
Total cost of clutch replacement (parts only) - Rs 9270

The space will be huge if we fold the rear seats completely. Once i carried a single size metal cot + single mattress kept above the cot in my getz. Can you imagine?
I was confident that i can carry in my car but big bazaar guy was not sure. My flat security guy said " Kya saab car ko tam-tam (auto) bana diya "

Thanks KP**** for sharing the maintenance & running expenses on your car & kudos for maintaining such a good log. Just wanted to share similar expenses with my Indica (hope you don't mind).

@ 80,000 kms, my expenses were
Maintenance - 0.68 Rs/km
Running - 1.97 Rs/km

Today @ 97,318 kms, my expenses are
Maintenance - 0.70 Rs/km
Running - 2.01 Rs/km

I believe your Getz has been very reliable looking at your comparatively low maintenance costs (of 0.51 Rs/km). Mine is marginally higher (more details on my ownership thread message #54--> http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...ica-dlx-4.html ).

Looking forward to regular updates on this thread

Re: kpzen to kpgetz : Two Getz CRDi's join the family !! - 77,777 kms

Crossed another milestone today - 88888
kpzen to kpgetz : Two Getz CRDi's join the family !! - 1,11,111 kms-img170.jpg

RHS Door window beadings had started cracking up after 80k mark. Monsoon made it even worse and there was air gushing sound inside the cabin at high speeds.
Got them replaced yesterday. Approx 1000 Rs for 2 pieces.

Congrats on the new milestone, Prajesh.
Between, do you still get the servicing done at the dealer?

Benny,
Only the fuel filter is replaced every 10k kms at dealer end as the process of replacement is little complex & i don't trust any non Hyundai mechanic to do that.

Rest of the parts (all original) are sourced and fitted from outside as per the maintenance schedule.

Thought so! How do you manage to source these? Are they freely available outside?

I'm asking this on the basis of the other thread talking about dealers fleecing customers on the pretext of maintenance.

Sorry for a very late reply.

Spare parts not freely available, 2 years back i bumped into a shop for some accessories and found genuine H parts so i had got around 10 oil filters then. Just got over with my stock of filter now need to find some source.
