Agreed, but this is a case of before and after.
Before it was 100kph @ 2000 RPM
Now it is 100kph @ 2100 RPM.

Here are the 2000 RPM speeds I tested today:
2nd - 35 KMPH
3rd -50 KMPH
4th - 70 KMPH
5th - 90 KMPH
5th - 100 KMPH @ ~2100 to 2200 RPM
2000 RPM
2nd gear - 40kph
3rd gear - 60kph
4th gear - 80kph
5th gear - 100kph

5th gear - 140kph @ 3000RPM
5th gear - 180kph @ 4000 RPM

Naah. Don't conclude anything by this.

It depends on lot of external factors like climate, wind, air filter condition etc.
Everything has to be perfect at those speeds.

I thought the speedo is calibrated based on the drive shaft speed. The Size of tyres would matter when one is calculating the actual speed of vehicle. So two cars running different sets of tyres should report the same speed at the speedo for a given RPM. It is a different matter that actual speed (say, calculated by GPS although slightly inaccurate) would be different.

You are right, the size of the tires will have no bearing on the speedometer speed and RPM correlation.

@ Prajesh : I'm still on stock tyres GPS 2 175/65.

I will check the 120 kmph, 140 kmph, 160 kmph tomorrow and see if it matches the respective rpm. Still confused if it is really an issue or not..

That is a neat 10 KMPH difference in the 3rd, 4th and 5th gears. But I dont think I will go for a clutch replacement yet.

Whats wrong with you? You ve done only 40k. I'm sure your driving habits are not that bad that you will warrant a clutch change. If its slipping have the play adjusted and clutch bled. That should do.

Tanveer,
How much clutch should be released for the test ?

I tried, car stalled when 80~90 % clutch was released. Is this ok ?

Pls don't try those speeds on stock wheels.
Those punny crappy Goodyears can't take that much of power.

This car has a very robust clutch. Can take a lot of torture if driven properly.
So, Don't hurry. Go for clutch replacement only after double checking.

Did you get the clutch bleeding done ?

Re: kpzen to kpgetz : Two Getz CRDi's join the family !! - 77,777 kms

Dont think your car has a clutch problem. Noticed your driving that night when travelling with you (for that short distance) and it's a minimal clutch way. So @pras.oct25 might be right in what he says.

BTW-: My car touches 100 @ 2000 rpm on 5th. Just checked it yesterday on hosur road. But I was accelerating at that point. Will have to try it at cruising mode.

your clutch is perfect. Normally on modern engines, with proper usage clutches last 100,000kms easily.

After some sleepless nioghts, and pestering BHPians for their 2000 RPM values, here is what I have.

Prajesh, your game is up - what mod are you running under the hood???!

Old vs New. (Old one got partially sucked in and the fins got damaged)
