Went to try out in between my calls, and glad to say that (in my 2020 G20 at least) the speed warning DOES dramatically reduce

In my car, the gong still remains noticeably louder than the other gongs.

Might be a different implementation in different platforms and software revision

MQB AO IN

not possible at dealers, possible after market. Warranty, same logic as quoted.

Obviously no dealer can do it, for obvious legal reasons. There's plenty of contact info on this thread where and how to get it done.

Re: Disabling the 80 / 120 kmph speed warning alerts

I am in Bangalore and want the continuous chime above 100 to be reduced to a chime with longer intervals. Can anyone help me here ? The car is a duster AWD 2020. The continuous chime causes a headache!

Please do post here if either of you have figured this out. A couple of my friends have the new Jeep Compass and they’re trying to find a solution for this too. Any leads in any part of the country are welcome but Mumbai / Pune / MH are ideal.

Thank you.

It was introduced to warn the driver if he crosses the mandatory speed as speed cams are getting installed in several highways on a test basis and may be a reality in few years. If you cross the speed limit, may be the fast tag may be automatically debited going forward. Also some of the new age cars with the power under hood and the NVH insulations, it may actually mask the actual feeling of going over 100 kms. If you are being driven around, it warns the passengers if driver across the legal limits. Man is not a responsible animal and hence some times, its better to have these to remind us.

Toyota's alarm is pretty loud.
Code6 Mumbai(Mates & Mods) have been doing it for sometime now. If they can do it for the Fortuner, I am quite sure that they can do it for the Crysta too.

I'd suggest you all to contact the nearest Code6. However, if this service is being provided exclusively by Mates & Mods, then a trip to be Mumbai will have to be planned. Still worth it IMO for the 'peace' of mind, especially for the folks living in the Southern, Western and the Central region. Link-

For the VAG cars, you have to go to 17 - Instruments, then Adaptation and from the drop-down menu, select the option indicated under IND/INDIA for the speed limit warnings. There is one each for the 80 kmph and 120 kmph alert.

For the 80 kmph alert, it is a yes/no (0/1) toggle. For the 120 kmph alert, you've to set the speed limit to a higher value to negate the beep.
Here’s a screengrab from a Tiguan:

Re: Disabling the 80 / 120 kmph speed warning alerts

This thread has been a great resource to find out how you get rid of these chimes. My car is nearing 1 year of ownership and I had seen the speed chimes in my father inlaws Xcent and it was not that bad, with music i was able to drown the chimes. But my Rapid has the most annoying speed chimes I have encountered, no amount of music can drown that annoying sound. I honestly believe the louder music is another annoyance, at least for me.

Thanks to a BHPian for the tip. if you have a VAG/German car, you can disable these speed chimes from this gentleman on instagram. here's where you can reach out on Instagram.com/drcodemyvw

He was able to ship me a cable for my rapid and coded the speed chimes online. The process was about 15-20 mins long. He managed to change the speed chimes and add in a few cool tricks like needle swipe and tear drop wipers.

I fully support this stand, law of the land must be respected at any cost.
This thread should be deleted by TBHP or title of the thread should changed.
TBHP is losing respect if such things are encouraged.

I hope you are aware that all modifications are illegal as per the current MV Act.

Remap- illegal
Exhaust- illegal
Lowering springs- illegal
Upsized tyres- illegal
Wrap- illegal
Bullbars- illegal

Where do we draw the line? It is a senseless rule and if somebody has the patience to contest it, they are welcome to. But let's be real that's not happening anytime soon. If somebody want to modify their car to make it better suited to their taste, for off road or track use, they surely can I think
