So hey there.

This is what I just got in the mail today: http://www.snapdeal.com/product/moto...flator/1337175

What I liked about this unit is:

1. It weighs a ton - it's all metal.
2. Its a double pump/cylinder unit. It's 150 PSI, but since its a double pump unit, the air will be pumped in faster.
3. It connects straight to the battery terminals using clip-on's which means its meant for heavy duty use. 12V socket cannot take the load. GOOD THING!
4. Got a few reviews which reinstate what I've mentioned above clearly.

Will try it this evening and see if it does its job. Comes in a neat little bag which keeps the whole thing packed tight.

Did you get a chance to try out the pump? I Googled on the brand and the company, it turns out they are based in Gurgaon. Near my office too. Depending on your feedback I will go to their office to get a first hand feel. I am also interested to know about the cable length.

Re: Tyre pressure gauge and portable inflator pump / foot pump

I am using Coido 6526 tyre inflator since last 2-3 months and its working fine. I bought it from ebay for around rs.800 for emergency use but have been using it since last few days for top up. The only problem i face is, it does not have on/off switch to have to manually take out power plug.

It takes about 1 minutes to pump 4-6psi in the tyre.

I also bought this manual Codio pressure gadget and its doing good job.

I hope this will help some one.

Even I got the same coido inflator last week. Though I got it for Rs 550. It works really well. The main motive was to buy it for my leh trip so I would be using it on my motorcycle.

Re: Tyre pressure gauge and portable inflator pump / foot pump

Guys i am looking for a double barreled foot pump to be kept for emergency use only. I am not inclined to buy a electric pump for several reasons.

1-Electric pumps are not known to be reliable.
2-I won't be using the pump daily for top ups but for emergencies only.
3-In a harsh weather situation like rains how is one suppose to use a electronic device without shorting out same is beyond me.

So any suggestions for a good foot pump from you guys.

Thanks.

Look no further. I've been using this for over two years now on my bike and car, and it has never let me down.

Comes with an analog gauge, which is fairly accurate.
Double barreled means top ups take just a few pumps.
I don't even go to filling stations anymore for air pressure checkup anymore. I maintain it myself, using this.

I have been using foot-pump for many years for the same reasons you have mentioned.
Low-tech but reliable in an emergency.
Also an exercise for shedding a few kilos!

It works wonderfully.
After a few years the rubber seal gets worn out, which I replace.

Will try to post a photo of mine soon, It is an Indian make heavy-duty (single barrel) bought for around Rs.450.

Foot-Pump

Here is my foot-pump.
Indian make, does a great job.

This particular piece is nearly six years old and is working fine still, bought it for Rs.450.
(had to change the rubber seal in the tip a couple of times).
I had a similar one before this for many years too.

The pressure-gauge is not reliable though.
I use a seperate gauge to measure the pressure.

I top-up after/before long drives, in the early mornings when the tyres are cold.
Is always in the boot of my car for any emergencies.

I like this double cylinder compressor. Thanks for posting this. How much does this actually weigh? And, does it come with different type of nozzle attachments for cycle tyres, foot ball, etc..?

It weighs quite a bit. All metal construction. I would say between 6 and 7.5 kilos. And yes, a few more nozzle attachments come with it.Out of the box, it connects straight to the tyres - so no worries there.

Wondering if there's any adaptor for the air compressors here - that can also fill up bicycle tyres? Can such an adaptor be purchased separately? And where?

Most of these inflatrators come with 2 adapters. One for Bi-cycle and another for football/volleyball ... Not sure about buying it separately.

I too got the two adaptors like you mentioned... but unfortunately the hole for the bicycle adaptor is a little smaller than the outer dia of the bicycle tyre valve.
I tried expanding the adapter hole by inserting a screw - and turning it... but that did not help!

Re: Tyre pressure gauge and portable inflator pump / foot pump

I was using the generic Chinese pump but it was not at all reliable along with Michelin digital Tyre pressure gauge, was looking for buying pump from Michelin itself, they have very nice range of pumps(ebay UK have plenty of them) with auto cut but suddenly saw this cute, portable and useful pump which I can carry in my bike as well and picked up, it's on the way through USPS. Thanks to my friend Phani Kiran for shipping this to me.
