Re: Front windscreen sunfilm?

I am not sure how good AIS glass on the Polo is but I installed the Garware Iceshield on all sides and front of my Ecosport a week back and found it very effective in controlling heat and UV.

I found Iceshield 70 to be quite good. If you can afford 3M CR70, go for it.

Now in Mumbai or rather India only reputed brands have good films and are extremely expensive, above 20k for all windows including the front.
It cost me 10K for all sides and front including labour cost.

I have shortlisted a film on amazon US website and is costing me around 50$ for a 30"× 10' feet roll. The specifications are at par with leading manufacturers in our country.

So my question is -if the above mentioned quantity/roll ; be enough to cover my car, HONDA CITY?

Or can i order 24"×10' roll which will cost me 36$$.

Requesting your assistance on this and oblige.
My suggestion would be that you can skip all the anxiety of ordering from Amazon USA and get your local dealer to give you sealed rolls of Garware Iceshield 70 or 3M CR70, depending on your budget.

Garware Iceshield 70 on my Storme's front windshield - 7.5 years now. All good. No bubbles, no scratches. A boon when driving in bright sunlight.

Hi,

Did you get it installed from outside or inside thw windshield?

I was thinking to get it installed in my Swift. Just a thought came to my mind why not to get it installed from outside, it will protect windshield from scratches and if at all the film gets micro scratches over a period of time we just have to change the film.

Inside !

glass is harder then film. The harder surface will last longer. If film is outside, it will get damaged way too soon.

I think... These films are absolutely not made to be installed outside.

Re: Front windscreen sunfilm?

Hi straight6,

I have Ice Shield 70 and it is doing a good job in a hot / humid place on the west coast. Going by that experience, I can expect Arctic Cool to be better.

Thanks a lot. Specs wise they claim 50% solar rejection which is more than the 44% that was on the Llumar i had on my last car so thought it would be a good idea.

Re: Front windscreen sunfilm?

Has anyone installed Garware Ice Cool/Ice shield/Artic cool recently on their vehicles? What was the price for all windows and front and rear windshield?

How much did you pay for front and rear windshields and all windows? Also which car is this for?

Re: Front windscreen sunfilm?

Guys, I had messaged @sanchari. He mentioned that he has a Jazz. Per my talk with the distributor earlier, the quotes for Jazz are a bit higher due to it's huge front windshield. @Sanchari is checking further with fellow Jazz owners for a quote that he can compare with.

Was this in Mumbai? What car is it for?

As @condor mentioned, I was quoted 50% more than your quote for Jazz. So wanted to check with others.

Its for the new Swift and the guy is the same guy who installed Llumar on my SX4 last time for 7k.

He said this film is more expensive along with ice cool grey 70 as well as an option. He also suggested Llumar air 75 which looks like the baleno green glass but I didnt like the specs of that. I'd prefer the air 80 over that but even that has heat rejection of 43.

This guy installs the film right up to the edge of the glass and then files it so it looks like the glass is that way and I've even been checked by a cop in my SX4 once and let go because he thought its the glass .
