Re: Front windscreen sunfilm?

Hi All, i am planning to get sunfilms installed on all glasses (front and rear windshield, and all 4 windows) of my Tiago.
Any recommendations for product and vendor in Bangalore..though i would prefer Garware but have zero knowledge.
Please help.
PS: I am located on the outskirts of North Bangalore but willing to travel to anywhere in Bangalore provided its a good product and worth.

I have to reiterate what I said and as the mercury is rising, I could appreciate how well the CR70 is cutting off the heat.

If you are living in places which are blazingly hot like mine ( Vijayawada) and if you plan to keep your car for a long time, this is one of the best investments that literally helps you cool off even in the horrid heat.

Try Autopia at 100ft road, Madhapur. Frequented by lot of TBHP folks.

Do you observe any glares during night drives? Has there been any other impact during night drives with sun control film on the front windscreen?

Thanks CircleOfLife. 3M quoted 9k for CR70 film (front windshield - XUV5OO) few months back but now is asking for 11k (checked with multiple 3M).

Few shops agreed for Garware and other brands for 6.5-7k max, but I'm not convinced. As of right now, I'm leaning towards 3M itself.

There is no tangible hindrance to the night visibility, though there is also no significant improvement in cutting off the glare in night drives ( in contrary to the assurances from the 3M ) & also against some bhpians experience ( as they think it helps them in the night drives).

So I think if you are expecting shielding from the night glares, I dont think CR 70 is of much use.

Re: Front windscreen sunfilm?

I wonder if we can replace the factory windshield with a heat reflecting windshield. The following web page suggests that such a product is available in India. Many times, companies like to boast about such products, but in reality they are not marketed in India. Being in Bangalore, I have no need for such a product, so I have not pursued this any further. But seems like a good solution to keeping out the heat while keeping visibility high.

Re: Front windscreen sunfilm?

All the stores I have reached out to in Hyd including Autopia have told that Garware Ice Cool 70 is only for the front glass and it doesn't come for the windows. They are suggesting to go with Ice Cool 40 or any other brand with 70% VLT such as Stek for the windows.

What do they mean it only comes for front glass ? It's a roll of film same as the others and can but cut and fixed on the side windows too

Re: Front windscreen sunfilm?

Hi guys, I'm planning to install a sunfilm for the upcoming summer on my Kiger. I already got Garware film 70% VLT applied on 4 windows + rear glass but held off from applying anything on the front because of RTO inspection. I delayed the decision even more since it was winter and not too hot, yet.

With the temperature soaring higher than Fortuner's prices in Hyderabad, I want to go for a film that will help the leather seats inside stay as cool as possible. From skimming random posts above, I read 3M CR70 and IceCool, but what brand and film should I go for, for just the front windshield?

OT : Also, are there ways to keep leather seats cooled? My objective is to keep my back and posterior cooled and ventilated, so please suggest any way possible. My next car has to have ventilated seats for sure..

Exactly. I asked the same to everyone and they dont have an answer but still refuse to apply it to the windows. Not just one or two places but every single place I have contacted in Hyd tell the same.

Re: Front windscreen sunfilm?

Hey All,

After a drive from Bangalore to Chikmagalur last week in blazing heat, I’m seriously thinking of adding film everywhere except the windshield (still not made up my mind about that). The burn through the windows was pretty strong. Our right arms got proper grilled while driving. Made life very uncomfortable for our pups too. What are the recommended places in Bangalore to get this done? We have a Hector Plus if that makes a difference. TIA

I would say - if you can decide on the brand, then the rest will follow. If 3M, then you go to the 3M shops. Llumar I am not sure where. If Garware - then some one here will help.

I would say Front will help a lot - both with comfort for eyes, and lesser heating up. The front windshield allows a lot of heat into the cars.

I do not have any film on my current car: nervous of making the investment only to have some over-zealous policeman waste it. I did have on my previous car. I'd say, prioritise the windscreen! It is the largest area of glass, contributing the most heat to the car, and having the film will make driving easier on your eyes.

I experienced the same in my return leg from Chikmagalur to Bangalore. The dashboard was too hot to touch. I had checked at Ultimate Detailerz Jakkur and they suggested CR70 for the windscreen which costed around 30k+ for the Harrier. They had another product basically unbranded which would cost 15k approx for 70% of CR70 effect. Had to shift the sun film expense at some other time but the Chikmagalur trip necessitated the urgency of application. Hence in the market for sun film for the windscreen and rest of the glass or only windscreen and driver side windows will suffice?
