Congrats to both of you on the bike. Both colors look so good that I am now wishing I had booked mine in these colors (Mine is Interstellar green).

This is what was told to me by SA as well. And he told me I have to pay for the visor. I laughed at him and said you can keep it with yourself when the time comes for me to take delivery of the bike. Can't they atleast give a visor along with the helmet.

This is such a beautiful angle. Love the colour. This is making me rethink about my Astral Black booking now.

Re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

Had the opportunity to finally test ride the Super meteor 650.

Was very pleasantly surprised.

I took an astral green out and about for around 30 minutes covering 6-7kms. A mix of traffic, empty stretches, roads as smooth as the surface of the moon, and speed breakers. The bike handles very well in all conditions, and for me atleast, in a manner that’s comfier than the int/gt 650.

The weight, while very high on paper, is masked well. In part thanks to the low centre of gravity and the longer wheelbase. Once on the move, even at crawling speeds, the weight isn’t an issue.

The suspension has been a big talking point. I felt it was perfect. Stiff enough to not be bouncy at higher speeds, and stiff enough to not be uncomfortable over bumps and speed breakers. The front with its USD shocks, felt confidence inspiring.

The mapping & gearing is spot on. Makes good use of the available power and provides oodles of Torque at any sane speed in any gear.

Ergos were typical cruiser based, but felt natural after a bit in the saddle. It may be an acquired seating style, but it sure is interesting.

Overall, the bike definitely looks and feels bigger than it’s 650 siblings. The quality of parts & of the bike as a whole has tremendously improved.

If I were in the market for a second bike, the SM650 would be right at the top of the list.

Re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

Hello Folks, to all those like me eagerly checking on the Bike's delivery day by day in the app, does it show something similar?

Does it move stage by stage or do you directly hear that Bike is ready or something?

Thanks. Seems like checking the App could be useless.

Re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

For the folks in Hyderabad looking for ppf/ceramic I asked around a bit.

The guys at Detailing Den (detailing_den_ insta handle) have already done ppf for a super meteor. They have a video of astral black on their page.
They told me that it would cost 14k for self healing TPU 190 mm. Also, the tank would be done by dividing it across three panels of ppf (left - center - right) as the 190 mm thickness ppf cannot be shaped onto to the tanks curvature.
They do all RE bikes for 12k, as SM650 having a larger surface area they increased it to 14k.

Called up Autotriz Gachibowli, they do not do ppf for bikes, only ceramic coating and the cost would be 8k

Yes, it does move stage by stage. I too had the same concerns as yours as I never heard from the dealer or any progress on the app. Upon checking with customer care, I was told the vehicle was ready at the plant. This was for 2 weeks at least.

Then finally the status started changing as below.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled-planttodepot.jpg

This is after the bike was dispatched from plant to Depot.

This update in app after bike reached the Depot and was billed to my Dealer.

This final update was after the vehicle was dispatched from Depot to my Dealer.

The depot to dealer took 2 days in my case.
And truck carrying them had reached early morning and unloaded in front of us finally on Monday 3rd April 2023.

Finally our bikes delivery pic of mine and my friends on 4th April 2023.

Hope this helped.

Re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

The Bluebird went for its first service today. The right side silencer was misaligned (check the quoted image) when I took delivery and the delivery manager had promised me to fix this during the first service. I was asked to get the bike to the brand showroom in Adyar, Chennai and not take it directly to the company service center. The delivery manager took the responsibility of servicing and fixing the silencer.

I was supposed to get back the bike in the evening today, but got a call in the afternoon that RE engineer needs to inspect the bike on how it got misaligned and he can only visit tomorrow. So instead of just fixing RE wants to an root cause analysis and I am loving this approach. Also, icing on the cake, I was given a replacement Super Meteor 650 till I get my Bluebird back.
