rx100 stopped manufacturing in 1996. The bikes prior to 1990 all have japanese engines and were colaborated with Escorts.

My bro has an rx100 of the year 1991 which does not seem to have as much power as my bike.

I would say that if buying a rx100, then try searching for one prior to 1990, and yes , make sure the engine and chasis is still good.

Sorry for hijacking the thread V12, but thought its unnecessary to start a new thread for this.

My 1986 RX100 kick start lever is not retracting back to its original position. Its functional, but there is very little strength in the lever. What could be the problem?

Time for some final updates :

The tank, panels, cowl, engine, hubs and forks are back from painting. We have gone for matt black on the engne, hubs and forks as against the silver decided earlier. The spokes are currently being fitted onto the wheel. The rest of the bike would be assembled tomorrow since the mechanic is not free today.

Finally some pics on the progress. Being a Sunday, not much could be done. This project is turning out to be more of a restoration project than a cafe racer one. As we progress, we realise that some parts need to be replaced. Almost everything on the bike (except for the engine, suspension and chasis) is new.

Actually everything on the bike is replaced, right down to the bolts, washers and even nuts. Only the engine, forks, chassis and hubs have been retained. All bearings and seals have been replaced. It is in essence a brand new bike now. And to top it, its a "Cafe Racer"! Will be using the old stock silencer for now.

The costs are still increasing, just as the Enfield Cafe did. Still have to pick rear shocks, battery, will have to get the seat foam and cover done. Rearset brackets are done, just have to create proper mounting points for the footpegs and linkages.

At least I can see some bike for now. Hoping to finish it this week. Wish us luck....

Thanks Pulsarmaniac, we too have been eagerly waiting to see the completed bike. Its definitely gonna come out better than the Enfield since it was done from scratch and we had all the freedom to do whatever we wanted.

Anyways any guesses on the paint

Thanks aadix Makes me wonder too how would the Eliminator would have looked by now if I still had it.

Anyways, its been 2 days and there has been no progress. So we're taking the bike to the Yamaha authorised service center tomorrow to have the electricals and other stuff fitted. Once thats done, we have to sort out the rear-sets (Which is still an issue).

for rear sets i think that you can contact people in bangluro cause they have the racing setups there and any one who has a drag setup for the RX would be able to help
