I would differ to it. Here @ cochin we are getting prompt service. I called up on wednesday for a friday booking, and they gave me the same.

May be depending upon the location or just coincidence.

Also they are going to update MapmyIndia soon to Ver 7.1. All XUV Owners do enquire with your RM about the update. I casually asked for the same, as was facing problem of GPS connecting delay, sometimes. Has such issues been reported here?

Mahindra launches new app for XUV 500 http://ow.ly/fNQJe

Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the Blue Sense app for its XUV500. The app is supported on the W8 model and comes with a host of features. The app is supported on Android phones and connects to the XUV500's infotainment system. Users will be able to control the infotainment system through the app and also access information related to climate control, TPMS (Tyre pressure monitoring system), fuel statistics. This will also enable users to keep tabs on important maintenance data.

The report highlights W8. Even I believe it could work for W6 (thinking from the app scalability & audience reach perspective). May be some W6 owners could try & pass feedback.

Yeah the report has 2 conflicting statements-
One is the fact that this is meant for w8 owners, but at the same time they also claim to have made the app available to >41000 owners. Surely that must include w6 owners as well.

Doesn't work for me . I guess I don't have the latest software version (4.04.0). And I am unable to check my version since the button combination mentioned in this thread doesn't work for me either.

It doesn't work for my w8 either. There's an update released that needs to be installed in order to get it working. I'm going to check with Sahyadri today.

Maybe you should also check with your ASC if there's something similar for the w6.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

The app is meant only for W8 model so wont work on W6. For W8 the M&M website tells to upgrade the infotainment system at nearest dealership.

The apps are also available on the Mahindra website.

http://mahindraxuv500.com/product/mobile-downloads.htm

The ACI confirms that its only for W8.

Anyways, a nice gesture from M&M.

Great offers from Mahindra on all vehicles except XUV 500. Another parameter indicative of good demand for XUV.

I did exactly that and they reduced the insurance from 54K to just under 38K.
Thanks Ash, good tip.

Thanks Ash, good tip.
I took delivery of my w8-FWD on wednesday. I cant stop driving it. It gives me a grin everytime I sit in the driver's seat!

On the insurance, the dealer was offering royal sundaram insurance. I checked their online site and got an instant quote (inclusive of 0 depreciation) for about 18K cheaper! 5 minutes work saved me that amount.

Planning on getting LCD dvd players fitted this weekend with the money saved

Congratulations. Many happy years of enjoyable driving.
Here in Mumbai when I speak to my friends, nobody seems to have heard of the XUV. And Mahindra's image is quite poor with regard to design, reliability etc. But I feel, like many others, that with the XUV M&M have catapulted themselves into a different league and should be considered a serious player in the UV market.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 : Test Drive & Review

Apparently there was a XUV5OO short-film festival and I really liked the "Shaadi Ka Driver"

Wakatonda rocks!

PS: What is a MH registered red XUV doing in a Delhi wedding?

Completely OT:

I was paying more attention to the shiny red XUV!

"Baal ki khaal" comment -> Neither the "shaadi ka driver" nor the lady "who likes to go for long drives" are the owners who might have come from MH and brought the car along.
