Aha, my mistake, did not go through your comment properly. May be the Thar effect, got one today. If its the caliper, this goes into warranty, no questions asked. Try talking to the floor manager or someone above at the ASS.

Ahh, the KL regn. I did notice that and was infact wondering if it came from a garage because it seemed to be carrying some black greasy finger marks.

Also noticed 2 screens in the car 1 IRVM LCD and other one on the dash. Was it a tab or something else?

1 IRVM LCD
Temporary, using it as a normal irvm not its lcd, I like the big size of the glass.what an irony. I am planning to sell it, bought it for some testing.
IRVM camera is handled by the other unit.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

According to autocar Renault is'nt even showcasing the new refreshed Duster, can't understand exactly why, Duster is exported to UK from India so logically that should be upgraded right? meaning the european duster also should be already manufactured in their chennai plant.

My guess is the new one is much improved both lookwise and feature wise so they want to empty the current stock which might be hard if they showcase the new one. That might also be the case the discounts being offered recently.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

I have been offered a cash discount of 60,000 on the RXL 110 plus variant and the on road price quoted is 12,99,000.If I manage to save some more on the insurance then the on road price will be around 12,30,000.What say guys, shall I go ahead and book one?

I guess that may be the point, but if they lauch the refreshed Duster what will happen to the Terrano and its premium pricing strategy would be interesting. I think India is the only country where they have this issue.

Check if the vehicle has Airbags? If the answer is NO, then its an older stock which they are trying to clear. The older 100 RXL had no Airbags.

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

Allright, I have replaced the stock bulb in the ceiling light to Speedwav 24 SMD LED Lamp Car Dome Ceiling Roof Interior Reading Light (available on ebay.in). I paid 200 bucks for this online. A colleague bought the same thing from JC Road at half the price. Nonetheless, the outcome is superb. It feels like replacing the pale yellow bulb with a cool white tube-light. The replacement takes less than a minute and I would strongly recommend it to fellow BHPians who are Duster owners.

Make sure you do not but the bigger one - 32 LED or bigger. The 24 LED one just fits in.

Cheers!

Re: Renault Duster : Official Review

IMO, Duster's interior is quite well lit with all ceiling lights On, may be probably just on the higher side.

Himadri must be playing around with his Thar to get back to Sikkim and conquer the remaining pure 4x4 routes

Currently except the looks quotent and the 4x4 drive, the Thar does not come anywhere near the Duster in other departments. That said, Thar is like buying a piece of cloth, the tailoring needs to be done to make it wearable. On the other hand, Duster is a well tailored suit.

Yes, am really playing around. The tyres, alloys, front guard, rock sliders have just been replaced. Now the seating.
Kind of getting tired after the lovely Duster experience where its just ignition and a smooth drive.
