Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

This is what I picked up from another auto forum where one of a Storme owner went on twitter criticizing the design head (very harsh and unwarranted for) who then replied back to his tweet.

I do hope they do something nice for the Storme's interiors on the lines of the Zest and Bolt's interiors. Just my view.

Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

I think the interiors of the Storme are pretty understated and classy as it is. I now have Autoform faux leather beige (nutmeg) seat upholstery (Feather Touch) that matches the door panels and rest of the interiors perfectly. Looks really rich and feels really nice as well. Will post photos soon.

Ditto.I opted for the nutmeg autoform too.Albeit not feathertouch.I matched pattern with the black nutmeg combo of the doors, saving a lot on maintenance.Black autoform carpets complete the interior.

@Vignesh,nice combination & for matching with the door panels.

Where did you get the mat ? Is any other color available ? What's the price ?

Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

We've gone in for the same seats! A little sweaty though no? Your pattern is the one I just got in my Zen (in Red and Black combo - very smart)

Also you got it done before the new rule came in place about the logo. No logos on mine. Pity.

Yes the nutmeg color is high maintenance. Gets blackish on the pressure/contact areas pretty quickly. But so far easy to clean with a damp microfiber.

I wasn't given the option of mixing and matching colors though. Did you know someone to get it made to order?

Faux-leather is sweaty. That's the reason I stuck to fabric. (though sides & back part are faux leather). Got a set from Elegant Auto.

I'm actually comparing it to my faux leather Autoform seats in the Baleno which even though they are in black are not quite as sweaty. I was quite happy to have leaft the original fabric seats (I in fact liked them a lot). But it was getting nerve racking controlling my kids (especially my youngest one and all her friends with chocoate fingers and icecream and lays and kurkure and God knows what else grubbiness kids come up with ....) so opted for something that could be wiped off with a wet cloth.

Don't know what rule this is, but apparently seat cover manufacturers have been stopped from putting popular manufacturer/brand logos on their seat covers. Won't affect local guys I reckon, but companies like Autoform have stopped putting logos. I tried a lot to get just the TATA emblem (spoke directly to the factory guys as well) - no go.

@ebonho:yes a little sweaty. In summers it does bother the back a bit. Thanks to winters last few months in delhi hav been a blessing.
I told elegantauto lajpat nagar to do a mix and match.I selected the pattern from those they already had and an autoform brochure had fabrics samples with texture an colours. So was able to take it near the car and match 'tata beige' to 'autoform nutmeg' and the closest of the 4 blacks in the catalogue.I asked for combo mix and wasnt an issue.
The logo thing must be new rule, I got this in March'13.
@condor.Mats are 'elegant' brand .Homegrown i guess.Available as custom fit for Storme.Snug around all contours on the floor.2+3+1 pieces for all 3 rows.Soft carpet texture.Set costed 1500rs from same shop.3rd row looks neat.Hides cargo net and fits around seat belt foundations and spare wheel access nut.

Re: Tata Safari Storme : Official Review

Vignesh nice basebal bat. I personally carry a police issue metal baton with non-skid grip under the floor mat of the co-drivers Always good to be prepared. Scout motto.

At a great time when my friend is also deciding on a 4x4 Storme. Please do munch a lot of miles and top it up with some off-road trips too so that we can get a first hand report.
