Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Wow!! This looks great. I liked the small piece of black in the front. I have a generic question. As per the current law is it legal to put Sun film? Or is there an allowable opacity?

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Congrats on your acquisition tourqueman.
Couldn't help but take more than just second glances of the car after the mods.
S-Cross is really a looker in silver with those momos
I had initially booked the silver but finally settled on the brown

Because that rear is much better to look at, when you compared the unwieldy front !

Nevertheless...

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Any feedback on Michelin Primacy LC (205/60/16) as a replacement for Elanzo? What are the other options if I want to retain the original tyre dimensions (205/60/16)?

Mate, I bought the Fiesta when it was clear that it was to be stopped soon. And it's not even a Maruti. Your fear is superficial. The workshop guys are treating me and my car good and there will be no issues for you to even if the production stops, which is not gonna happen.

Primacy LC is an old model with really soft sidewalls. Check the P3STs, you won't be disappointed. The 205 section one costs around 7500 bucks per tyre.

Thanks bijuji. Sunfilms are not legal. It's just that RE70 or CR-70 has high light visibility it will not grab police attention.

I completely agree. The discounts on the 1.3 Alpha would still not bring it anywhere close to how much the 1.3 Zeta was sold for, at launch.

Anyway, it's another thing to own a car at launch and know that you made a good call

Firstly, Congratulations on your new S-Cross.

I was off the grid for a while and could not respond to your tyre and alloy queries. Incidentally, I had a very similar shortlist - Momo Next Matt Anthracite and HRS 534 for the alloys and the Michelin P3ST, Pirelli P4 and Goodyear Assurance for the tyres. I had to choose the HRS as the folks at Sai Mag Wheels clearly mentioned that the Matt Anthracite would be available only by Jan of 2016 (which was still 3 months away for me) and the Assurance, again due to availability.

The co-incidence, is perhaps, in how Mysoreans think

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

How are the Michelin P3STs treating the fellow S Cross owners? I'm supposed to get my car this week and I still haven't decided about the tyres. Should I stick to the OEM tyres or upgrade to Michelins/Pirelli P4s? Someone told me today that I should stick to OEM tyres as they have been tried and tested on that model and also that the Michelins in his new car have been more prone to punctures.
It'd be great if all you S cross owners can let me know your opinions/experience about the tyre upgrade and whether I should opt for one or not.

There are many options in standard size, few of them won't make sense for a change from the OEM tyre(JK). Here are the list of few came across:
Apollo Alnac 4G
Falken AZENIS PT722
Hankook OPTIMO ME02
Pirelli P4 four seasons
Bridgestone Potenza G III
Michelin Primacy 3ST
Vredestein ULTRAC CENTO
Bridgestone Turanza GR 90
Hope this helps

Congrats on your buy! Can you share more details about central speaker i.e. size, brand & money spent?

How is sound quality now as compared to stock set-up?

Lots of owners have chosen to go the P3ST way, the other glaring options being the Pirellis and the Goodyears. The P3STs have excellent feedback - you just need to search for posts in this thread.

BTW, the price correction for the Michelins should make the decision easier for you

About the stock tyres, don't confuse them with the JK Vectras. The Elanzo Nxt is newer and should last reasonably long, while turning hard relatively sooner.
