Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

My DDIS 320 did a 1500 kms round trip over the weekend.
Faridabad - Udaipur - Faridabad.

Strictly "Made for Highways" only. Munches miles with ease.

Did you get the front grill modified? Can you please explain how this was done and where you got this done. Thanks

Go through this thread, @kpzen has posted about it.

I, for one, am still a bit miffed that he chose to be "exclusive" with this mod and not spread the cheer.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Getting my 1.6 Alpha tomorrow. Just wondering, how bad are JK Elanzo's NXT on S-cross 1.6? I have seen most people on this forum recommending a change and so are most media reviews. But Frankly, Can I drive them for 20-30K and then change? During my test drives they seemed to be alright. I drove the car with some heavy acceleration and braking, and it seemed to hold on alright.

First of all, Congratulations on the car.

Coming to the question, it is no hard and fast rule that the Elanzo tyres MUST be got rid off just after delivery.

The need for a tyre swap is totally on the basis of your driving style and requirements. If you are the aggressive types then the Elanzo must go. If you are the sedate types, then the Elanzo can/may stay. If you like corner carving then the Elanzo would let you down.

Plus if you have the extra budget to spend approximately 35-40K, then you may think of a tyre swap just after delivery so as to get a better buy-back price for OEM tyres.

Honestly speaking, after one gets hang of this brilliant engine and it's amazing power delivery no tyre or brake can control the car. It begs for more grip all the time.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I swapped mine for Goodyear Assurance straight out of the showroom. Paid Rs 1,200 per tyre.

PS: Mine is a 1.3

That original designed grille from Euro-spec S-Cross looks good. From where you got it & for how much ?

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Did the PDI today. Decoded the VIN and the car's manufacturing month/year is September/2016. The car had 55 kms on the odometer, is it normal? I did ask my SA about it and he told me that the car was driven from Gurugram plant to the dealer's parking lot. All set to take the delivery on 28th morning. My SA was pushing me to take the delivery before 28th as they have a lot of cars to deliver on 28th. Our car will be ready for delivery on Tuesday.

Got a call from HDFC today, they will be installing the Match Point GPS device in the first week of November.

Thank you!

I have quoted my own post above. I got a call from HDFC regarding the installation of the Match Point GPS device. I will write more about it later once the device is installed.

Congratulations Rishi! Welcome to the Suzuki crossover family. About the mileage on the ODO, it is reasonable. The car arrives from Manesar in a trailer and is not driven all the way. The initial mileage includes road test, moving in & out of trailer, moving around in stockyard, moving around in showroom. Do not worry and without a worry, tick off all PDI parameters. ☺

Congratulations ! 55 kms is very much acceptable for a new car. Go ahead and do the PDI.

What is this Match Point GPS stuff and why is HDFC bank doing this?

Maruti marketing team must get in touch with you for rights of this picture. They could use it for promotional purposes and I bet it will have positive impact on the sales. Awesome photograph!

After Bajaj Alliance announced usage based insurance program I am guessing all the others are following suite. In fact someone had posted way back in January (HDFC Ergo Insurance wants to install a travel logging device in my car!) that HDFC was installing a GPS device. Also check this thread

Well for maruti dealers it is normal. I got my ciaz in may 2016 it was driven 67 kms at the time of pdi and at the time of delivery it was 74kms.
I suppose what maruti dealers in Delhi do is that they dont pay taxes for bringing cars from Haryana (Gurugram) to Delhi. So to escape the tax cost + cost of a trailer carrying the car, they get it driven.
