M Sport means staggered setup - lusty cornering capabilities and beautiful 18" alloys , but you will need lots of tyres

...and a lot more money . I had set out with 50L cap on the budget but was OK to stretch it to the 54.5 ask and a 3 month waiting period and compromise on interior color for the 330i sport. That was until I was hit with the bad news of having to shell out another 7L to get my hands on a 3 with the MSport kit . I love the 3, unfortunately, I love my money more!

Re: Review: BMW 330i (G20)

If 330i is going above 60L, just get the M340i instead. You can think of it as the last IC engine car you would buy before EVs take over.

Anand, agree with your choice of the 340i, but OTR in BLR is ~82L

Bangalore salaries are also higher na

BTW, Jaguar XE is another good option. Good looking and good handling too (in fact better than the 3 as per many reports) and does this on regular tubless tyres with tall side wall, doesn't need fancy low profile RFTs. How much is the XE on road in BLR?

Edit: XE also comes with a spare wheel in it's legitimate wheel well below the boot floor!

And the risks of being asked to go home one fine morning are equally high . The 340i is way out of my reach. Dint they stop the production of XE in India late last year ? But again, if I want to spend even a rupee over my budget, the 3 will be the only exception.

Re: Review: BMW 330i (G20)

I think XE is available. Facelift lost the theatrical gear selector that rises from the ground which is sad and as is the case with majority facelifts these days, original was more beautiful!

Anand, this is the one I want! But the 16L+ on road price difference makes me question my choice no end.

I'm working on it. My decision is 18 months away. I'm trying to learn as much as I can from all of you. I'm yearning for the M340i. That's the car I want, but can't have (right now at least).

I do want to thank all of the people who have posted on this thread. You've helped us all immeasurably. It is very much appreciated.

When I was in market for my sedan 6 months ago I had checked with JLR dealers in Bangalore. Both of them said that local production was stopped and that they were expecting CBUs at a much higher price point in early 2022. Not sure if they have indeed arrived. Jaguar India site does not list XE anymore.

I ultimately settled with 330i Sport.

XE at a higher price point may not be worth it anyways.

Re: Review: BMW 330i (G20)

A quick query on tyre pressure for 330i - Since a week one of the tyre is showing 26 psi and warning sign in iDrive. The warning says check tyre pressure at your comfort. I had topped up air twice but it again goes back to 26 psi overnight. Other three tyres show 29 psi. All are cold air reading.

It cannot be puncture as otherwise it would have gone much lower. Could it be faulty sensor - maybe not as otherwise it would not show higher pressure when I got air filled. So what kind of fault would lead to minor 3-4 psi pressure fall but no more than that?

It has to be a slow puncture. A very small nail.

Get the tyre checked at any tyre repair shop. If a puncture is found, have it repaired just like you would do in a normal tubeless tyre.

I doubt sensor be faulty as it would be showing correct reading once air is filled.

You are right. Got it checked today evening. It was a very minor puncture with a metal shard. Got it patched from inside though I was anxious about rim damage in the process. Hope it's fixed for good.

Why are you maintaining only 29 PSI? Check the recommended pressures. In my 17" RFTs, the recommended is 33 PSI cold.

Yes I do have 17" RFT. I vaguely remember reading it somewhere to set it at 30 PSI in all tyres. My bad that I did not read the mfg suggested tyre pressure. I ask for 30 psi at petrol pump which means cold is little lesser. But now I have purchased a tyre inflator and can fill up at cold pressure. So you are suggesting 33 PSI cold for all 4 tyres with city drive as well with just 2 adults?
