Any idea if the Wireless AA and the Car Play will work on the lower variants with smaller screens?
Thanks
As per SA, this update is limited to top variants which has an inbuilt wifi chip.

We stopped approx. 500 meters away from spot to check for damage and the right side headlump cluster as can be seen in the pictures below:
Very unfortunate, hope, the authorities will look into the matter. However, I didn't find the location of the incident: is it the Yamuna Expressway? If you mention the place, it might help others.

Yes it was very unfortunate to have faced this kind of incident for the first time since the time i started driving around 17 years back.

The incident happened on SH10 which connects Rourkela to Sambalpur in the northwestern part of Odisha. The details were not mentioned in the post as i believe not too many BHPians are there in this part of Odisha.

We informed the local PS through our contacts on the same day to enable them to take appropriate action.

Safari comes with HIDs for low beams and halogen for high beams. Guess this price will include the whole setup (bulb+ ballast etc).

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Hello all.
I知 still not satisfied about the left drag that was there, even after second service.
Is it advisable to get wheel balancing from independent agencies to address the issue. I知 particularly concerned about tyres getting compromised due to improper alignment.
Does it void the guarantee If I get from outside.

If anyone has similar experience, please share how did they tackle it.

The Harrier and Safari both use HIDs in their low beams and halogens for the high beams. This headlight setup includes the bulb and ballast.

Also no OEM headlight uses LED bulbs. If they are LED headlights, they are sealed units with LED chips inside and the LED driver either inside the headlight assembly or mostly mounted outside the headlight assembly.

Alignment is a specialised task , please take the vehicle to an alignment shop who actually test drives the vehicles and make sure they tell you what is wrong before fixing it.

I prefer shops that does not have a digital machine but they are hard to find these days. I would not worry about warranty at all when it comes to wheel alignment, ASCs rely on outside shops if you lean on them for a resolution as their own machines are often not working nor do they have trained technicians.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

We have been planning an upgrade since the past couple of years, and finally found that the Safari ticks most of the boxes. Planning on the Safari after eyeing the Harrier for quite a while, since it offers the added flexibility of the 2 extra seats. Despite knowing the hit and miss nature of the Tata service, mostly by reading about it on this Forum, we have decided on the Safari.

But looks like the Tata Sales guys don't want to do a sale. I've visited the Prerana Motors on Lalbagh Road and Key Motors on Mysore Road.

Key Motors experience: The sales guy was pretty uninformed going as far as to claim that the Safari has a 5* NCAP rating. Also, he didn't have any idea about the latest features on the Safari(wireless charging, air purifier etc). Wandered around near the front of the showroom for a good 3-4 minutes and made our own way near the Harrier and Safari displays before a sales person decided to come and greet us. The display vehicle had the battery disconnected and we couldn't even see something as simple as the boot space because the boot wouldn't open, let alone checking the driving position by meddling with the driving position.

Prerana Motors experience: We were greeted immediately at the door and were assigned a sales person. He was pretty good, well informed and patient. with all of our questions. The car had all the electronics working, and could check out the favorable driving position.

Since the car was out on a test drive at both showrooms, both the sales execs informed that they will bring the car by to my home to do the test drive, but no-one followed up. The sales guy from Prerana, didn't get back to me even though I followed up with him

Eesh, hope you persevere and make the right decision this one does not disappoint on the road its made to be driven. Are you looking at an MT or Auto? The Auto is recommended if you can stretch your budget, the GOLD editions are loaded with features which we dont have from the first batch, its still awesome to drive though.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

I received my Tata Safari 2021 Gold AT last week, surprisingly i got the vehicle in one week from the date of booking, so far covered 800 kms in last one week, also changed the OEM Bridgestone Tyre to Conti. i am currently preparing for a long trip tomorrow to Agra from Bangalore.

will post decent pictures and my Tata Safari Gold experience along with the performance of Conti tyres.

In this one week of driving, I am neither so happy nor sad in my decision of going with Safari canceling the XUV700 booking and long waiting for the refund.

my biggest concern in New Safari 2021 is the low-speed heavy steering, during my test drive i did not notice so much heaviness on steering but the new car has heavy steering, I am wondering if the dealer tuned it for light steering.

Otherwise, in the highway driving of about 700 kms so far, I am happy with its performance, another let down personally for me is the NVH, I expected better NVH inside the cabin. will post my experience soo after completing my round trip.

Congratulations, Mukesh!

Just to add to another data point to the thread:
Contrary to reports/reviews, in my Test drives, I too did not find any issue with the heaviness of the steering in the Harrier or Safari. I thought it might be due to me being used to a hydraulic steering, but it appears there is more to it.

Very unfortunate that such a gem of a vehicle has to deal with such pathetic showroom experience.
Please don't give up on the Safari yet, It's an awesome vehicle ! Minor niggles aside, the drive just puts a smile on your face every time. I got mine in April and have completed 6k kms in it, I still sometimes go to the basement just to sit and spend time with her.

Make sure you do a thorough PDI to ensure you don't get a lemon. I took my vehicle from Adishakti motors Hebbal. Similar to your experience at Key motors, Nobody attended to me for the first 5 mins ( This was the time when the Safari was a fresh launch ) but the sourness ended there. I caught hold of one SA and he turned out to be pretty good. Did a test drive that very day, 2 days later he got the car home and we had an exhaustive test drive with the family. I was also allowed to check the allotted vehicle in the yard for as long as I wanted and made the payment only after I was satisfied. No hassles with the insurance being done outside as well. I really didn't expect such a pleasant delivery experience from Tata.

One issue I faced was the breaking of the cable that folds the rear seat for entry into the last row, that was sorted in the second free service, other than that, mechanically and electronically, haven't faced any issues till date ( touches wood !! )

Write to Tata Motors on their Twitter handle. You will see immediate response. It worked for me. And as you said, most of the sales guys do not know the basics. The guy explaining the features of the car during delivery does not have a clue about DEF. He said both the indicators on the MID are for fuel.

My 2 cents, never do wheel alignment at the authorised service centre. Find a reliable local tyre shop where you can get this done. The good thing is most such shops also offer a free check up after 2k or 3k kilometres.

This is a common thing in most Tata dealerships. Drop a note to customercare@tatamotors.com and I am sure you will get the response. This attitude makes a huge difference in finalising sales. I recommended Safari to my friend who also had a similar experience.

Congratulations Mukesh! Looking forward to your detailed post on the Gold edition. Would love to hear about the ventilated seats performance.

It's quite surprising that you are not happy with NVH as I am quite impressed with it especially after the engine warms up. Did you have the same feeling when you did the test drive? Else, please raise it with the service centre.
