Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Just got this SMS. Good on Mahindra to try and address the opacity around delivery timelines.

Even though I have previously received the tentative delivery date of around mid January 2022, I received the same SMS today.

Does it mean, the dates informed earlier are no longer valid and we have to now wait for revised communication on or after 25th November? Not good Mahindra

Hopefully they will not remove CarPlay as that can be a dealbreaker for someone on Apple ecosystem

You are absolutely correct, Nitin Gadkari had clearly called out that unlike popular belief India will not treat Hybrids as a stop gap between ICE and EVs or any other Green alternative. The main reason was manufactures would then dump the hybrids into the Indian market since most western and developed economies are phasing out the Hybrids.

Hydrogen seems a better solution (end product is H^2O) than the LiIon batteries w.r.t end of the day pollution (Battery waste management would be the talk in 2030) aspect but the progress chart of EV is higher than Hydrogen.
My very close friend works in Reliance Petrochemicals, he mentioned that they are setting up a Hydrogen plant in Gujrat which will be Asia's largest, this would address the economies of scale issue with that of manufacturing Hydrogen. Internally I feel even the Govt wants the Hydrogen tech to mature because that would be economical for India considering most of the Li ion mines are leased by Chinese state run agencies in Argentina, Bolivia and other South American countries.
The last frontier is about the safety, for that too there are options available. The main roadblock is intent from the manufacturers.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Just saw this somewhere, this is pathetic. Why do people who are in the line with the bookings have to wait, when people can just buy just like that by readily purchasing accessories etc.

Something similar they had done for the Oct26th onwards. Created a lot of noise around that date which turned out to be a farce. I too have received this sms, however am sure its another diversion tactic from the Customer care and Sales team. If you see carefully the message says tentative month, that means there is no chance that you can get into a discussion with the dealer on the Invoice price etc.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

At a time when raw material prices are so high & parts supply-chain isn't streamlined, Mahindra is well within fairness if they want to decide that they'll deliver booked cars based on the most efficient (& profitable) production timelines, rather than produce cars based on booking dates.

Its just "We'll let you know after 25/11" + fluff. I'm guessing production & dispatch would likely take a reasonably long duration depending on the variant & colour.

Got similar SMS yesterday.

Otf was of 22A series.

Hopefully will get some concrete time for delivery on 25th

Let us not mislead the mass public about these fuel efficiency figures.

A 1.0 L turbo petrol AT will return less than 12 kmpl in city driving conditions. A 2.0 L 200 bhp heavy SUV with AT delivering that number?

I call it bluff. On the highways, yes. In city traffic, unless there was very light traffic, 12 kmpl is impossible.

If XUV700 P AT indeed manages to achieve 12+ kmpl in city driving conditions, I would say they should share the secrete with the world as that means they have deceived the laws of physics

Yup, those figures are not indicative of daily city use. Many owners who shared in the FB group have mentioned getting about 8 in city which seems in line with estimates. Will get worse in bumper to bumper traffic.

This seems fudged and misleading. I expect around 6 Kmpl in bumper to bumper city traffic, about 7-8 in normal city traffic and 12-13 kmpl on sedate highway driving.

If it is true, mahindra has hit a sixer to the moon.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Looking at the involuntary cancellation messages, I got a bit scared about my booking. Realised that the update mail from Mahindra was hiding in the Spam folder. Considering my booking is for AX7 L AWD version and the chip shortage scenario, glad to know that the date still remains 5th Dec 2021!However, I am mentally prepared to get an update to the update mail for a future delivery date.
