Not sure exactly what got updated as I don’t see any changes in Adrenox app behaviour for mobile! In the hope that this new ICE version might have sorted out a few glitches and bugs, it’s good idea to get the update. The rumour is that it has maples refinement. I have not updated on my car yet - there is no need to rush. As always, allow the build to stabilise, settle down and get it applied sometime in June. When things are broken “a little”, why jump in to break more 😛
Thank you for the update. I just got my AX7L P AT serviced two days ago and the service advisor said I was on the latest (10.27.61) and nothing newer was available. I guess it came out either yesterday or today. But I am ok without the update as I don't see any software niggles in my current version. And as you said there is no need to rush; unless they introduced some new feature? Do you know?

This looks to me like a rear bumper diffuser applique with fake exhaust tips slapped on top of the existing skid plate and not a modification to the exhaust system.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

It's been 2000 kms on the vehicle and one service done. I have three questions for folks who own the 2024 facelift version.

1. Do you feel the seat ventilation is very mild to weak? I've sat in ventilated seats of Hyundai before and they felt markedly different/stronger? If this is not normal, how do I go about the complaint process with Mahindra?

I checked with the service centre, and they are claiming it is exactly what it is in all XUV 700s.

2. Is there any way to engage regular cruise control (not adaptive) without engaging AEBS?

3. There's a considerable jerky start whenever I use auto hold in start stop traffic. It's a little off-putting. I come from the world of manuals, so is this also expected behavior?

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hello fellow BHPians,

A quick question about the time format in instrument cluster. It shows time in 24 hour format in XUV700. I tried searching for 12 hour format in settings but couldn't find anything. Is there a way to change it to 12 hour format?

I recently purchased the XUV 700 AX7L D AT, and I can relate to everything you mentioned:
1. As per the owner's manual, The seat ventilation in the XUV is just recirculating cabin air. I had previously sat in a Hyundai car where the ventilation was noticeably stronger. In fact, sometimes I don't even feel like the seat ventilation is on in the XUV. I chose a MY 2024 vehicle specifically for this feature, only to realize that a MY 2023 vehicle was available at a 1.5 L discount, which now feels like a mistake.
2. I don't believe you can engage cruise control without AEBS.
3. I also come from a manual and I've noticed that the jerk is a bigger issue when parking in tight spots, especially when I need to stop and inch the vehicle forward by a few centimeters for perfect parking. Since my parking slot is tight, my routine after starting the car is to disengage Auto/start-stop and auto-hold while moving out of the parking space, and then re-engage Auto/hold once I reach the road in front of my building.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Is there a facelift expected for the XUV 700 in 2024? Other than the minor refresh where ventilated seats, a new colour and minor feature additions, the model is still 3 years old and does feel a bit dated in terms of design language if compared to Harrier/Safari.

I’ve to purchase a new car to replace my daily car Hyundai Creta SX(O) 1.6 Diesel 2015 and I’m considering Mahindra or Tata. A Hyundai verna or a Kia Seltos would also fit my requirements perfectly but then it would land me up in the same segment and it won’t feel like an upgrade in terms of quality, space, features and power.

My running is going to be 1000-1300 km per month in the city only. 90% of the times, I’m going to be the only occupant in the car. We are a family of five so there is no actual need for a 6 or 7 seater other than for the road presence and maybe occasional road trips with friends. I’m open to both petrol and diesel but it has to be an automatic and my budget is ~30-35L. I keep my cars for long hence I want it to be a fresh model which stays relevant for 6-8 years atleast and has all the modern features and is decently reliable. I will be using the car for daily commute in Delhi NCR. I do love a good engine and gearbox (benchmark is VAG group TSI engine along with DSG). I also want a car which makes me look back at it after parking it. Skoda superb sportline in Steel Grey, G20 3 series, G30 5 series, BYD Seal, Skoda Kodiaq and maybe Tata Safari Dark edition would give me that feeling. XUV 700 looks great in midnight blue but its very common and the design is a bit overdone.

Moreover, I am used to driving an Audi A4 and Ford Endeavour 3.2 so it would be good if the car matches up to those kind of expectations in terms of engine, gearbox, ride quality, handling, braking, road presence and NVH.We have already owned a XUV 500 in the past and the exterior body shell of XUV 700 looks similar. Getting an A4 for 41L makes XUV and Safari at 30L seem overpriced.

I really wish Skoda Octavia and Superb (when it was CKD and had discounts) were still in the market. They would be perfect for me. Or even a good example of G20 3 series or G30 5 series LCI under 40L INR.

XUV has:
1) Better Engines (most powerful in the class)
2) Petrol option
3) Better Gearbox
4) Better Suspension/Ride Quality?
5) Better Headlights
6) Better Reliablity?
7) Better ASS?
8) Internationally sold model
9) Less niggles?
10) Booster headlights
11) Retracting door handles
12) Better interior fit and finish?
13) XUV 700 more or less has the interior quality of a 16L car as it starts at that price whereas the top model is for 30L

Safari has:
1) Better Exterior
2) Better and more modern and luxurious Interior
3) Better Road presence and size
4) Fresher model
5) More Mileage?
6) Bigger alloys
7) Dark edition which looks sick and has an easy to maintain interior
8) Higher Seating
9) Better infotainment screen
10) Better Instrument cluster
11) Better 360 degree camera and blind spot indicator
12) Looks Mafia in black
13) More exclusive compared to XUV 700
14) Auto Hold in more variants than just the top end
15) Feel good features like modern gear lever, boss mode, automatic dimming IRVM, front parking sensors, ambient lighting, terrain modes, powered passenger seat, touch panel for ACC, middle row window sunshades, fast charger in front, powered tailgate
16) Less plasticky compared to XUV 700
17) Safari probably has the interior quality of a 20L car

There is no facelift planned this year. As you said, you don't really need a full-sized SUV for your usage. I'd strongly suggest you to go for the upcoming 300 instead. It will be a much better fit for you. Your expectation of matching the overall experience offered by an A4/Endeavor will not be fulfilled with the 700. It is a great vehicle, but nowhere near the cars you mentioned. The interior, where you will spend most of your time, will feel like a step-down or two. The ventilated seats on the 700 are pretty average, worse than a 20L Hyundai. Between the Safari and 700, the former offers more comfort and features whereas the latter offers more power and better driving experience.
Considering your usage pattern and personal preferences, I'd suggest you go for a European car. For example, the Volkswagen Taigun 1.5 will be a great choice. It is well built, feature packed and a lot of fun to drive.

The XUV 3XO and Taigun will be a step down from my present Creta. Yes the Taigun engine is fast and punchy but so is the 1.6 CRDi on the Creta. I need a car which has a feel good factor and which feels like an upgrade.

Also, the Taigun has pretty shit interior quality and feels like a hatchback from inside. But I agree with you, that an European car would be amazing for me such as a Skoda Octavia. But since that’s discontinued XUV 700 and Harrier/Safari are the only upgrades I see.

The 1.6 CRDI in the old Creta is a different animal. You won't find an engine like that anymore. But, the 300NM Mahindra diesel is no slouch either. I have driven the outgoing 300 and it is a hoot to drive. Personally, I do not find the interiors of the 700 good enough either, not for a car touching 30L on the road. Tata twins score much better in this department but their drivetrains lack the oomph and refinement of the Mahindras. But then again, you want a vehicle in the class of A4/Endeavor and no Indian car can do that.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi Friends,

I have completed exactly 1 year with XUV 700 AX7 (Manual). I would say except for some ICE niggles, it has been an amazing experience. Couple of silly questions I have from fellow bhpians because I'm not sure if I am the only one thinking about these:

1) Do you also feel that the cooling box under the hand rest is too small. I feel that because my Grand i10 had the glove box where I can store my big 1 Litre bottle and gets cooled. Very much needed in this year's Bengaluru climate (Never thought thay I would every say this). Anyone found a solution

2) Do others also feel that the handrest could be a little bigger towards the front. Somehow I feel it's a tad bit short.

Thanks

Yes it should have been a little longer. Even after sliding fully forward I can't rest my full arm over it.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi All

XUV 700 AX7L (P) Today out of nowhere the front right TMPS started showing error. I tired the manual learning process but it doesn't work on the front right (I keep leaking air and eventually TPMS not successful flashes).

Anyone faced this issue? I'm guessing something is wrong with the sensor. Odo on car is 26500 km, I'm thinking of going to service nearer to 30k only and then get this checked out as well.

Thanks!

Hey, I faced this issue today with my car speakers. Everything even phone calls produced a crackling/distorted noise from the speakers. Spoke to the service center, they suggested to come down for a check. Went home first to drop my wife, and came back down from the house, started the car and the problem disappeared.

Just wanted to check, if you faced this issue ever again, and if yes, what was the fix ?

Thanks.
