Would like to know how does AX7 AWD AT variant fares in comparison with Scorpio N Z8 4X4 AT variant in terms of ride quality, finesse and ease of use of the variant?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, sharing my 2 cents having taken back to back test drives of the Scorpio N Z8 and XUV 700 AX7L last month.

1. The Scorpio seats you higher off the ground as compared to the XUV. This means a more commanding view for the driver. However, this, in addition to the ladder frame vs monocoque chassis results in a more pronounced body roll in the Scorpio. While not necessarily a problem for the driver, it does become noticeable in the rear seats.

2. They have different suspension types, and according to the SA the ones on XUV were better suited for the roads while Scorpio gets the edge on off-roading. To me, the suspensions 'felt' similar.

Overall, Scorpio feels macho while XUV looks more premium.

Hope this helps.

The two vehicles are in different leagues and meant for widely different purposes. In terms of ride quality, finesse and ease of use the AX7 wins without any dispute. But it all depends on your requirement from the car.

If you need a big car to travel on highways with your family then XUV 700 should be your choise. It is more of an urban car. The AWD is not comparable with any 4x4 vehicle and can only take you out from mildly tricky situations. But it should be OK for 99% usage demand for an average urban population.

On the other hand if you want a really rugged BoF 4x4 car then go for the Scorpio N.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Dear members,

I own a AX7L and somehow, the "L" badge fell off. Any pointers where I can order the rear badging or has anyone experienced if the service center folks might be of help here, I have clocked 16k and due for the 20k service soon.
OR
Do I need to browse boodmo, or if there are any pointers where I can get it for less in Noida?

Agreed with everything except the ride quality part. I personally found the Scorpio N to have a better ride quality overall. It is more forgiving at low speeds and dismisses the broken roads in a much more composed manner, which is quite understandable.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

A friend has been offered a 2.5L discount for a AX7 petrol AT lying for six months with a dealer in Orissa. Should he be asking for a larger discount?

The 2nd and 3rd row ride quality of XUV7OO is better than Scorpio N. Scorpio N offers a better seating position and near parity ride comfort for the 1st row.

You are right, my experience was limited to the driver's seat only and I found the Scorpio N to ride better, especially at low to medium speeds.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Does anyone have any pointers towards Headlamp alignment for AX7L? Service manual / any video would help for a DIY. Apparently, my car's headlamp alignment has gone from just ok to worse after I requested the ASS guys to align it. So, thinking of DIY but could not find even a single article / video throughout.

Also, I just noticed the headlight leveler does not work when your lights are on High-beam. You can only adjust the height of your head-lamps (using leveler in the dash) only when in Low-beam.

Thanks in advance!
For seat covers, you can try Imperial seat cover shop. I got Creta seat covers from there and quite happy with it.

I an understand your point because most owners have a complain with the suspension noise of the XUV 700. But surprisingly that issue is not there in my car after replacemet of the LCA (touchwood). There are some other members too who share the same view.

It is better to get this done through the ASC. The leveller switch is inside the bonnet behind the light assembly. But the same is very flimsy and there is a risk of damaging the same.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi.
My BH registration has almost completed two years and it is time to pay the next tranche of road tax. Has anybody done the same ? How is to be done ? Through RTO or Online on central MHT portal ?
Anybody can throw some light ? Help will be appreciated. I am in Bangalore.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Does the AX7 and lower variants of XUV700 do not get keyless entry and exit? Since the AX7L gets motorized door handles I believe pressing them will lock/unlock all doors? But since the lower one's don't get such motorized handles, I guess you need to lock/unlock with key first?
