Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

My first post on Team BHP! I have booked the XUV 700 AX7L Petrol on the 7th of October from CAI Coimbatore. I sold my Honda city about 7 months ago and had initially booked a Tata Safari Adventure Persona but decided to wait a little because I wasn't sure of how the lock down was going to go.

Finally decided to cancel the booking and wait and see the XUV 700. The pricing for me was amazing for all the added features over the Safari and I decided to go for this instead.

I chose the L because of the 360 video and also the Continuous Video recording (similar to the dash cam). Does anyone know how that works - does it keep a recording from all cameras or just the front and rear?

Are you sure? Cause from all videos I've seen, the button next to drive mode/blank is the screensaver on/off button.

Thanks. Yes, I considered this option, but with the launch of XUV700, Safari feels overpriced and underequipped.

From the Demo videos, it records from all cameras for 11 hours. Stores any detected incidents separately for evidence that can be swapped onto an SD card.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hi all

I visited the Mahindra company owned Showroom at Chowpatty, Bombay recently to check out the vehicle for myself.
I thought I'll attach the latest upto-date On-Road price list for Bombay for your reference : )

Note the above is from an actual Mahindra company owned & operated showroom and not a dealership as such, although the prices would be the exact same as they would at a dealership.

XUV700 (or some other?) testing at Khardungla Oct 2021

So I was in Ladakh Oct 6-14 and I found three XUV700s in camo being tested at KTop. These folks drove up and down KTop.

Why would Mahindra be testing in camo on 10th of October when the car deliveries started 25th of October? The camo made no sense when undisguised photos have been published in reviews in August! https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...00-review.html (Mahindra XUV700 Review)

These were three vehicles being driven by solo company drivers.

Anyhow, enjoy

Re: XUV700 (or some other?) testing at Khardungla Oct 2021

IIRC, according to a post on our forum, as a reply to a similar question, manufacturers tend to continue testing the cars even after the launch, so as to assess the durability of components by putting through intense conditions. This helps manufacturers replace defective components with recalls, before customers actually face them.

FYI, the car featured in the middle picture is the upcoming Scorpio. Rest has been answered by BHPian Benoit in post #2.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Tracking link is finally live and working under the "My Bookings" tab on the portal. Expecting some update today, i.e. 27th October, considering Mahindra's timeline announcement of updates being rolled out.

Booking made on 7th Oct: AX7 Petrol AT (Everest White)

Gotcha

btw you just opened my mind.

The gent driving the middle car wrote it as XUV700 in the South Pullu police register!!

I didn't realize it was the Scorpio!

Thanks Benoit for educating me. Makes perfect sense - the more you test the likelier you're to catch any problems before customers do. And it never truly ends!

Heard from my friend who was in Ladakh at the same time & spotted the same cars was told, they were testing the DPF related issues which are commonly reported in BS6 diesels.

But why the camouflage? Can’t they simply continue testing without that as well since the car is already revealed? Or am I missing something?

Makes sense. Ah that's why they tanked up right before driving to KTop!

Khalasar T point clearly sold only one BS6 winter diesel for instance.

These are probably the cars that were wrapped in camouflage months before launch. They just keep testing with the same cars and don't go to the lengths of removing the camo once the car is launched.
