I don't use Car Play but I do use Android Auto and "Hey Google" voice command works. There is a setting in Android Auto (on the phone) to enable this; may be there is one on the iPhone as well.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hello everyone!

After almost 3 years of exploring the market in the given segment ( and also debating on the geniune need of such a car ), we finally booked the XUV 7OO AX7 L P AT variant in the newly added Napoli Black paint scheme. Official date of delivery according to Mahindra is December, 2024 but SA convinced us that we'll get the car under 2-3 months at max.

We are going to opt for some accessories as well, namely, 3D Mats, LED scuff plates, side steps and pedal covers ( Please suggest if any other important accessory has been left out ). Now here comes the main question - We were also willing to go for the rear bumper protector but got to know that it's illegal in India ( don't know then how many of these manufacturers are offering it as an OEM accessory fitment ) and that it can damage the chassis majorly in case of a strong rear impact, thus, putting us in a dilemma. Would like to get some views/clarifications regarding this.

Did you try to get them to do the door pads and the dashboard?
I asked them to do it but they refused because the clips which hold the arm rest and door pads are very sensitive and they might not be factory spec again if removed. So we collectively left it untouched. Perhaps, the door pads and the centre console sort of flow together so not an eyesore to me atleast

I would avoid it. It completely spoils the looks of the car and more importantly its a major safety concern. It is meant to protect the rear end of the car and not the occupants of the car.

With the bumper, in case of a rear impact the rear bumper would be damaged, which will not be covered under insurance and hence you would have to pay to replace it.

Without the bumper, in case of a rear impact the rear would be damaged, which will be covered under insurance.

So, I wont suggest to go for it. The sales guys will push you for it saying it is both safe and legal since its a genuine accessory by Mahindra.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

To all the owners out here, Need your suggestion/opinion.
My current ride, Skoda Laura MT TDI & 1st Gen Figo TDCI.

Planning to buy a full size SUV, Diesel AT. Budget Max 25L (AX5 may fit the budget i guess). This will be the replacement for Laura.

Reason for change:
Laura getting old and fear of long term reliability. Touchwood it drives like a tank till date.
Also need a bigger car and take to some offbeat place without bothering GC.

What I'm looking for:
1. A big car to carry around family in utmost comfort.
2. Do lot of long/unexplored highway/mountain drives. (No not an offroad person)
3. Need good power delivery and reasonable handling. Spoilt by Figo/Laura and my extended family owns all VAG (Polos/Ventos & Kodiaq)
4. Not expecting MASS like service experience, but need average after sale service support. (plight of customers in India )
5. Need stable ride comfort. My family is prone to motion sickness, so allergic to lot of vertical movement.
(We once had a very bad experience in a Xylo, i felt that car bounces in all possible angles while on the move)
6. Should be reasonable to maintain (~15k per service)

Background:
I drove an XUV500 couple of years back and overall I felt some heft while carrying around the vehicle, Felt top heavy and need to maneuver it like a mamooth. This was not the case when i drove the Kodiaq, it was very car like.
I clearly understand the fact a low slung hatch sedan drives/handles much better compared to an SUV, but in today's age/time SUVs also should drive/handle reasonably good.

Im yet to TD XUV700, but thought of checking out your views here.
Would love to hear from any Ex VW/Skoda owners?

Thank you for the clarification. This makes it easier for us to not consider it anymore. Though I agree on it being an eyesore on such a car, our only reason to opt it was the rash bikers and auto drivers in traffic nudging the rear without any concern but I guess that's a safer bet than it being a liability, both financially and structurally, in case of an accident

Were they able to troubleshoot in your service centre?

It is just the change in roof colour. Not even the pillars. Look carefully the website does show the change.

My dealer confirmed to me that there is no price difference for either dual tone or Napoli black.

[*]Ambient Lights :- Blaupunkt Ambient Light (18 set) has been installed. I like the look and it comes with 1 year warranty. The car's luxury quotient has gone up a notch. Initially I thought it might look a bit over the top but post installation the lights are looking really good.

Cheers !
Hello there! Could you please describe your experience with the ambient lights so far? Also, does it need any modification to the existing electrical wiring setup?

Your expectations are very realistic. XUV700 has much superior handling than any previous Mahindra. It is a very practical highway mile muncher.

Please test drive and you will not be disappointed. The only area it may fall short is handling compared to a VW sedan.

I disliked SUVs and was a sedan person, having driving Corolla, Sonata, Baleno for over 20 years. Am pretty satisfied with my XUV AX5 D AT having driven about 20k km and 2 years.

My cousins remapped Skoda Rapid diesel AT is lovely to drive compared to XUV, but not as practical over poor roads. Sadly they dont make such cars anymore.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hello BHPians,

I have a XUV700 AX5 and the Adrenox subscription expired in April 2023 as I chose not to renew it. A couple of weeks back, I noticed a 50% reduction in price for the subscription and paid for the same through the App. Payment was successful through UPI and also recieved a confirmation from Ccavenue (which is the payment gateway). Unfortunately the subscription isn't activated and I still get the screen with "Logout" & "Renew Now" as the two options. I have raised this with Mahindra customer care who have been hopeless & incompetent with canned responses or silence( Nearly 20+ emails sent so far). They are not even acknowledging or denying anything, but my 2499 INR is gone.

Kindly let me know if you know of escalation contacts at Mahindra as highlighting this on 'X' & tagging Mr.Anand Mahindra didn't seem to help. It has been 15 days now with no help in sight.

Thanks.

Thanks for confirmation. I will go back to the dealer asking about the reason he is demanding for extra amount when clearly Mahindra is not asking anything.

Booked an appointment for the 30k kms service this week. Hoping to get the cracked windshield replaced under insurance as well.

These folks have been like this all the time. Most frustrating part is customers sending emails to them but no response except for canned responses with no real meat or solution....
Have lived with their crap support all the time so stopped even asking for anything.
Dealing with their dealership was another nightmare.(mere lip service and then asking to bring vehicle to workshop each time I have a technical question to which they don't have any practical answer)
VVC Motors across Hyderabad have been the same. Praying that I get someone with good knowledge during my future visits elsewhere.

Tagging Mr. Mahindra is of no use, he will pick up posts which he is interested in.
