Agreed.
Thanks for reacting to my message, and calling me, Nikhil. Appreciated.
I changed my key fob battery next day, and the issue hasnt been seen yet. The issue has happened 2nd time, and the key cell was replaced just about 5 months ago. I still doubt this is battery related as I would expect an alarm on the cluster if the keyfob battery is low.
Will have it thoroughly investigated by the gentlemen at Mahindra.
Agreeably, such incidents take all the confidence away, specially in remote trips with family.

Best of luck to for your investigation with the M&M ASC.

Similar incident happened with me once, on the second month of my ownership and at that time the second key fob was not delivered to me. Luckily, it happened at home and I was able to open the door from the app without any issues. This has never happened again.

M&M could not help with the reasons for such incidence and brushed it off as a stray incident. But after discussion with other 700 owners as well as M&M personnel during my plant visit what I could understand is that for some reason the car de-activates the key and hence when you try to press the button, the LED doesnt blink. This has nothing to do with the key fob battery.

Good review. Have decided to buy AX5 over Harrier.

Can you please let me know the total cost incurred for PPF.

Did anyone try using the flip key which can be used to unlock main door manually? The angle is quite difficult to get the key through while holding the handle away. Product designer would have been confident that no one will use key when the keyfob has remote functions for convenience and security

Yes, it is a bit difficult, but I haven't really got into a situation so far (3+ months), forcing me to use it. Manual key is only for emergency situations.

In fact, the key stays put in my pocket all the time as I dont even take out the key to enter the car. You would probably know this, still - press the driver-side handle while you have the key in your pocket, and the handle comes out. And same process to lock as well. A shame that Mahindra hasn't implemented this on the front passenger door though.

I feel it is better to not even use the key fob. Just shared my view in the above post, about the truly "keyless" entry

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Push Start/Stop Button functions

As understood during car demo, this is how i use the Push bottom feature.

1) Once you get into the car, push the button without pressing the brake pedal. This will bring infotainment to life. The electronics, blower, music system etc .. start working.
2) Once the dashboard has completed all song and dance, warnings disappear, press the brake pedal and press the push start button to switch on the engine / AC.

3) to my surprise, yesterday i tried long pressing push start button (I will tell you later why) without pressing the brake pedal - the engine started.

Not sure if this is a known feature to start engine through a long press, but isn’t it a safety issue to allow engine to start without brakes pressed?

Now coming to why i tried this option …. In my earlier post i have mentioned that the only Niggle i face once every week is internet getting disconnected. I drive to my farm on weekend, where there is zero Vodafone connectivity, my car losses internet. Alexa and Adrenox app connect features do not work. But issue is when i drive back to city or my home which has good Vodafone connectivity, the internet connection doesn’t auto restore.

So every Monday morning I have to disconnect battery and connect back for internet in my eSIM to work. This has been going on for 3 weeks. This weekend while googling the issue on internet, i saw one post which suggested try resetting by long pressing start button for 10 secs.

When i checked in the car, Push start/stop button was the only Start button in the entire vehicle. So to explore, i long pressed the button without pressing brake pedal and to my surprise engineer came to life. Of course internet did not get restored as i was still in my farm.

Coincidentally, while driving back from farm, as soon as i reached main road i said “Alexa, Are you connected?” and to my surprise Alexa responded “Yes, I am connected to internet”.

Weird ….But i was super happy that next day I don’t have to go through the pain of opening the bonnet of my new car, fiddling with spanner and my neighbours watching me from behind curtains and wondering “What with this guy and his new car”. To know whether the long press actually reset and restored connection (same as battery disconnect) or it was just XUV acting weird, I have to wait till next weekend.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Requesting all AX7 automatic owners to help with a confusion, which even the Mahindra showroom is not being able to clear.. Does the AX7 automatic variant have Adaptive Cruise Control? The marketing brochure says that AX7 automatics have simple cruise control and not adaptive. Whereas the website says that both AX7 automatic and luxury variants have ACC. Even the showroom guys are not able to confirm on this. I am looking at AX7 but given that I do long drives quite often, ACC becomes an important feature for me to decide. Would be great if AX7 automatic owners could help on this. Thanks again.

We have an AX7L automatic and we have used ACC in some situations. So I can lend some perspective here.
'
Don't make it a dealbreaker. The ACC brakes far too aggressively compared to how a person would. We used it initially but since then we only use ACC when on very long highways where the normal cruise control should work just as well.

Maybe you can check if a dealer has an AX7 TD vehicle and go check it out? Might be the most foolproof way.

We have a May 2023 AX7 AWD, and yes it has adaptive cruise control. Don't know if it's been deleted in later versions.

I had to try this way within 2 months of owning this beast when the battery drained for no reason and how much ever I tried pressing the unlock button on the keyfob, it didn't respond.
Had to call emergency breakdown services to get it to jump start.

Mine is AX7 and its not adaptive. You can set it to cruise as long as you don't brake. Once you put your foot on the brake, cruise turns off and you need to start again.

AX7L has ACC.

Sorry but I couldn't stop laughing when you mentioned the sight of neighbours keeping a watch on what you do daily to your new car
Glad that this way it is working.
Need to check out if this works on AX7 or not with long press.

This issue has been discussed before in this thread and you are not the first one to have such confusion. What you are looking at in the brochure is the feature list. Go to the bottom of that page and read the note carefully. There you will find what you are searching for.

"Adaptive Cruise Control is only available on AX7 Automatic and AX7 Luxury Automatic variants" - this is from the brochure of the XUV 700 2024 model.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hello again to the people of the forum!

So our AX7L Petrol Automatic in Napoli Black shade has finally arrived in the showroom yard ( has barely been 15-20 days since booking ) and is ready for PDI!

This leads to a question from my side, can we rely upon PDI service offered from the showroom itself? Unfortunately, I won't be there with my parents to welcome this mammoth into our family due to job commitments and ours being a small city/town, we don't have 3rd party service providers like Zekardo to help us out. We also don't have a reliable technician to tag along in our contact as all our cars till date have been serviced in their respective service centers itself.

Though I have shared the Team Bhp PDI Checklist with my dad and he'll be physically present for the PDI as well but still for extra assurance wanted to ask if it's worth it to take the services from the showroom itself.

Personally, I would only trust the official Team-bhp PDI checklist and not bother with anything provided by the dealership. Ask your father to arrive as soon as the dealership opens and take his time to check everything as per the Team-bhp PDI check list. If possible, ask a friend/relative to accompany him and help him through the process.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Booked AX7 Diesel Automatic Napoli Black since one Napoli Black is available in the yard at this time. The RM says that delivery can be done in 8 days flat. So, excited to join the XUV 700 family.

But I find my wife liking the old Midnight Black color more. One the other hand, I have always found the front grill of 700 weird and the Napoli Black makes it all black (is what I know, whereas the RM had mentioned that only the Luxury variant gets the grill black and the regular AX7 variant still gets the chrome finish grill and white alloys, not sure what is correct). I have a feeling that the front grill of 700 wont age very well in the next few years and might start looking old and outdated quickly (what with the rapidly evolving designs of TATAs which look already look quite futuristic).

Would love to understand what others think about the color choice and also how the design of the front grill would stand the test of time.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Need help guys. My XUV 700 AX7 L petrol automatic has gone back to the workshop for the 11th time in the last 20 months. Problems faced are: both screens going dead, one screen going dead, car door handle flaps not coming back in place, car not starting after a gap of 2-3 days etc. NBS Sewri staff is well meaning but can’t seem to solve anything. I need to escalate this to Mahindra.

Any suggestions beyond the generic customer care id ?
