Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Update from an executive of Pothens Mahindra in Kochi :
He confirmed that the official launch date is October 7th (reiterated it twice), and said that the company will only allow for the first 25,000 bookings initially, of which the first 6,000 bookings or so would be able to get the car quickly (don't know what exactly he meant by the word 'quickly').

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

With so many dates flying around it is looking less like a car launch and more like IMD monsoon forecast - it will hit Kerala coast first and then slowly move west and northwards covering the entire country within next 2 weeks, dealers too are behaving in the same manner, here in Mumbai they are absolutely steadfast - “No intimation from Mahindra”, either they are too well trained or have no clue whatsoever

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

A detailed walkaround of the petrol AX7 AT equipped with the L option pack, in Silver shade.

Differences seen over the normal AX7 MT posted yesterday - the door handles are of the auto pop-in/pop-out type (equipped with passive proximity sensors) as you approach/lock the car with the flippy keyfob, contrary to the manually operable door handles in the AX7 MT seen earlier. No buttons seen on door handles either.

Long press of the lock/unlock buttons opens/closes the driver side window and the skyroof.

Puddle lamps given under ORVMs.

High beam assist in this, but not in the AX7 MT?

No idle start/stop system button given on right side of steering (as opposed to MT).

Tilt & telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel (compared to only Tilt in the normal AX7 MT).

An interesting observation, the sunroof settings seem to have been changed by Mahindra. Earlier, a single press of the button would open the shade, and the front glass portion along with it. A few reviewers criticised it, like Faisal Khan. Now it seems to open the sunshade first, and the glass portion needs a second press. Good to see M&M paying attention to these little things.

I have asked the reviewer specifically in comment section if door handles automatically pop out when one approaches the vehicle with key in pocket and his reply is - "One has to unlock the car through keyfob only"

Based on the amount of kit offered in AX5 over the AX3, and considering only a 1 lac INR difference, I don't know who in their right mind would go in for a AX3, unless they are specifically apprehensive towards sunroofs . I have been considering the AX5 and MX personally, and would be going for AX5 if the MX does not offer AT.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Just saw the news in the link below

https://www.carandbike.com/news/mahi...launch-2556766

Though it is not confirmed news, according to what is mentioned, AX7 variant does not seem to have a AWD for Diesel. Is this true or am I missing something?

I visited the local Mahindra dealership today again, there was a XUV 7OO hidden in plain sight with a Scorpio Cover, the service guys straightaway denied having any knowledge. I asked my sales guy and he acknowledged getting a vehicle in the dealership. Plus the dealership has been billed 7 more vehicles, which shall also arrive soon.
He told that the launch shall be done on 7th (told twice). There is a sort of soft launch scheduled on 1st Oct where they will showcase the vehicles to a select few customers with a slight possibility of TD
