Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Hope that not being able to select both L pack and AWD is a technical error on the web site which gets fixed soon. If there is no AWD which comes with 360 camera, blind spot monitoring etc, XUV700 is out of my consideration. I simply don't like this kind of attitude from manufacturers. This happens if accountants who have no love for cars decide the feature mix.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

As someone who was interested in a 5-seater High GC car, XUV700 looks to be out of contention.

AX5 doesn't even seem to have alloy wheels, and with no-option pack support will probably have to go with alternatives.

Looks like Mahindra isn't really interested in selling this in 5-seater configuration maybe due to chip shortage and low margins ?

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Slightly OT

One area they are definitely going to dethrone Seltos is to confuse people with variants list, feature distribution to those variants and optional packs availability to those variants not to forget discriminate based on fuel type and gear type!

Anyone going to understand every minute detail of all variants should attempt UPSC exams next time!

One more thing - the Custom Drive Modes are available in the AX5 diesel, and NOT in the AX5 petrol.
AX5 has R17 Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels which is missing in your informative previous post!

I was going thru the M&M website and looks like AX5 misses out on many features like Cruise control, push-button start, reverse camera, alloy wheels (what happened to R17 diamond cut alloys?). I am confused and not sure if the webpage is still being updated. I had called the dealer and he said he will get back to me tonight of the variant specs in detail.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

The AX5 D MT at 15.59L ex-showroom seems to be the most VFM pick, in my humble opinion.

The AX5 D AT is going to be 2L more OTR and the AX7 D MT will be 3L more OTR, while the AX7 D AT is going to be a stunning 5 L more OTR. Really not sure if the additional features will be worth it.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Is there a group for Bangalore? I am keen to buy this car looking at the mouth watering top of the line pricing! Please add me to that group so that we can get a group discount.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Can someone clarify if the lower variants at least get a normal cruise control? I can't find any information pertaining to that in the spec sheets.

Also, AX5 misses out on almost all the bells and whistles; without any chance of adding an Option pack. Why Mahindra, why?

Stretching my budget from AX5 to fully loaded AX7 will be difficult. Wondering whether I should stick to my Creta booking.
I am surprised since it was originally stated that the AX5 will get alloy wheels and now it seems that it wont.

But the bigger miss in my mind is the 360 camera. If its limited to just the AX7L it just stretches my budget enough to make it not an option anymore. I started with hopes/plans of ~13L OTR (12-15 range) and had stretched it to ~20L OTR eyeing the AX5. Not really planning to push it 25L - which is nearly double what I set out with. I wont double my budget just because I wish to park my car easier.

So my car buying basically boils down to if the MG Astor comes at a good price - enough to get me to splurge over a Magnite/Kwid.

Man, I'm atleast a bit disappointed now. Maybe I'll wait another year - not like you could get cars quickly these days anyways.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

I want to know what the team which decided the feature distribution was smoking! Mahindra just had to screw something up...was almost expected! Some glaring omissions across variants.

Since these prices are applicable only for the first 25,000 bookings, expect the dealers to adopt some shady tactics. Also, waiting till the next batch of vehicles for niggles to be sorted, feature-rationalisation, and seeing the response in general will mean prices shooting up. The introductory prices in itself seem underwhelming IMHO, the hiked prices might turn out to be a dampener.

After looking at the variants, features and corresponding prices, the XUV 700 just doesn't live-up to the sort of VFM hype that was being created.

P.s. BHPian charade and myself are still planning to visit NBS in Mumbai to check out the XUV700 in flesh before making an informed decision. Any other BHPians in Mumbai who would like to form a group and visit, please do reach out. Thanks!

AX5 has 17" alloys as per the website. AX5 looks like the most VFM variant as you get almost 80% of the features which are needed for daily use. They could have kept ADAS or AWD as an option in lieu of sunroof in AX5.

Two doubts though. Looks like other variants do not have cruise control except AX5 which has the regular cruise control and AX7 which has adaptive cruise control.

Second doubt is do all the AT variants gets hill hold +ESP?

Another miss in an otherwise well loaded car is auto dimming IRVM.

TPMS can be retrofitted though

Just an Update on the 360 degree Experience on the XUV700 homepage.
The website is updated to experience the 360degree, now we can choose multiple Variants and transmission and explore different combinations.
Have a look:
