No it's not a JBL unit. Sorry, didn't know problem was occuring in the JBL model but I think it's most probably a software bug since it's happening in two different brand head units.

It is a Hybrid only. However, my mileage has increased after the 10k service to 15-16 kmpl, over the last tankful. But that can be contributed to the lower ambient temperatures now in Delhi, so the ac has a lesser load.

I also have upgraded tires to 235/55R17, Michelins Primacy 4 since the car had done 400 odd kms.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hi, I am due to take delivery on my Hycross soon in Mumbai.

Can the members advise if they have paid 'Auxilary Charges' and 'Depot Charges'? I understand that the dealer should not be ideally charging them. Has anyone managed to get these waived off? This totals to about Rs. 25k

Thanks.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Hi can anyone shed some light on whether the hycross is E20 compliant? I am planning to book a GX and asked the sales advisor but he said he will get back to me on that.

May be this is already discussed here on this thread but I could not find it. Thanks in advance

There you go! You have upsized the dia by close to 5%, which is why the displayed values will be less than the true value. System is under-reading.

Every new HyCross that you get today will be E20 rated.

Compared to the 215/60/R17 that the VX and VX(O) get from the factory, the 235/55/R17 is an upsize one can do that is as close to factory spec as it can get !

Oh it is R17 on the VX! My bad. I assumed 235/55 on the 18 inchers of ZX.

Actually it is less than even 1%.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Guys,
Need some suggestion. Unfortunately my Hycross got a minor scratch. It’s not so deep and can be easily covered by touch up. I am thinking of DIY with spray paint. It’s Pearl White, any suggestions which brand to go for. BTW I am located in Bangalore.

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Anyone here who owns petrol Hycross(I guess only GX variant). I did not see any ownership experience so asking.

I hear the fuel tank is pretty small and considering a heavy vehicle and low mileage, tank range seem to be very small. wanted to know from owners here

Re: Toyota Innova Hycross Review

Spotted this Hycross with Crysta's 17 inch diamond cut wheels. This should have been the choice for the VX by default. In this case owners seem to have moved from 18 inch to 17 for ride comfort.

Even though it's close to factory in terms of radius and circumference,

It's way off when it comes to matching the rim width with tyre width.

Refer the below chart.

Toyota Innova Hycross Review-screenshot_20231104_204949_chrome.jpg

I'm assuming that the rim width of hycross variant with a tyre size of 215/60 R17 is 6.5. Correct me, if I'm wrong. If the above assumption is correct, for 60 profile tyres, the ideal tyre width is 215/225 mm.

In case the profile is 55, then the width should be even lower at 205 mm. In this case, the width chosen has gone in the completely opposite direction. So, without a change in alloy wheel width to 7.5 inches, 235/55 R17 is a wrong upsize.

Reference link

Now, even if someone decides to upgrade their alloys from 6.5 inches to 7.5 inches, it might still not be a rosy thing to have. This change will increase the weight of tyre + alloys by around 15 percent. The problem with that increase is that tyres and alloys contribute to the unsprung weight of the vehicle. The lower the unsprung weight, the better it is for road grip especially when driven through uneven surfaces at a speed. Now, what's acceptable unsprung weight differs with different car models.

But when you choose the stock tyre size, atleast you can be sure that world class engineers in the OEM manufacturer's R&D has tested all these variables extensively and they'll atleast make sure that the combination of rim radius, rim width, tyre width, tyre profile, tyre load and speed rating, side wall strength is of acceptable safety and robustness in the diverse conditions that the vehicle has to take.

And hycross has a wide range of stock tyre choices in 225/50 R18, 215/60 R17 and 205/65 R16. I'll highly recommend hycross owners to stick to one of the above choices. My personal favourite in that list is 205/65 R16 for its comfort and abuse friendliness.

PS: I do not own a hycross. I own an Innova Crysta 2.8 touring sport BS4 diesel automatic. I've downsized my tyres from 215/55 R17 on stock 6.5J alloys to 205/65 R16 on stock 6 J alloys. I feel this is the best investment I've done on my Crysta till date. In addition to the tyres being comfortable and abuse friendly as expected, I'm also pleasantly surprised by the traction and braking both of which feel surprisingly better on the thinner high profile tyres! I'm not sure if the switch to continental UC6 has anything to do with it. But, I'm just enjoying this downsize.

Thanks for sharing this, will pester my dealer once my car arrives (estimated delivery date is still far away) to change the rims to the Crysta’s.

Had photoshopped the Crysta’s diamond-cut 17-inch rims on the HyCross and it changed the complete look of the car, atleast for me !!

You can check the compliance by looking at the inner side of the fuel lid where you will find a sticker mentioning E20 compliance. You may even educate the sales advisor, many times they themselves are not aware. The understanding on this forum is that these stickers started appearing sometime around May this year.

yes, this topic has been discussed in a few earlier posts, you can check that by searching for E20 and Hycross.

Hello Sanidhya, Cheers! I had also booked VX(o) 8 seater in sparkling black cs. Booking was done on 10th Aug, currently I am 8th in the waiting list, chances are that I will get the car by January. This Model+Colour combination is very uncommon as a result waiting list is smaller than others.

Photos will not do justice, you will have to see this colour physically to make any judgements. There is a good chance you can find it and compare with other colours at Galaxy Toyota Moti Nagar as they are delivering 5-10 Hycross's daily.

Thanks, this was the same exact thing I had in my mind. Hycross's 17inch alloys just look so bland, I don't know what Toyota designers were thinking . In comparison Crysta's diamond cut 17inch alloys look so better. Even Hyryder's 17inch alloys can look good on Hycross.
