Yup, They just increased the price twice.
Many people who are booking the car don't know about break issue. Only those who are members of public forums like this will know issues form some honest owners and reviewers.

The Punto is a good car, no doubt but lets not resort to demeaning the new Swift. In the case of the new Swift the hype I feel is justified, its a seriously good vehicle. Barring the small boot and lack of 60:40 seat splits the new Swift has it all.

Have not driven any L or V variants but agree Maruti should proactively upgrade the brakes and also retrofit them on all sold L and V variants.

Its not only Maruti that is raking in the moolah in the wake of the Swifts popularity, even Hyundai is doing the same with its i20. The piss poor AC and steering rattles are still not resolved.

I admire what Fiat is doing, but I feel its too little, too late for them to get any serious consideration from the normal hatchback buying junta (not afficiandos like us).

If they want to get some numbers they have to seriously consider offering discounts and offer discounts, at 7.81L OTR Bombay the Punto Emotion MJD is simply too expensive. When in the same showroom the Vista ZX can be had for 7.1L OTR.

Just visited a Tata/FIAT promotion stall at my office.

Inquired SA about the upgrade option for the current Punto owners. He said they have received an official info about the suspension upgrade option. They will be receiving the costing details and confirmation by Feb 10th Feb. He was not sure about the technical details about the upgrade.

I got to read somewhere that 2012 Punto's has lower turning radius too. If this can be made achievable in older cars, that will be very good than higher Ground clearance to me, for making city drive easy. Does anybody have any info?

Suspension upgrade kits for Punto will be available soon. Heard that the kit costs between 12k and 15k. Got this news from very reliable sources. Will change mine if the feedback is good.

Yes. 2012 Punto has a shorter turning radius of 5M

Guys, anyone has detailed info on what is covered and what is not covered under std. 2 year warranty and also under extended warranty? Can someone guide me to the correct document? I need this info urgently. Thanks in advance

I too heard it might cost in the range of 15k and might be consisting of struts for achieving higher ground clearance.

As told to me, this upgrade will be more beneficial for Diesel GP, as the oil sump guard sheet metal cover absorbs any impact and thereby impacting the oil flow and subsequent engine failure. But Petrol GP sump cover is Aluminium, cracks or breaks on impact. However I do not have anything to reference here to substantiate this.

The extended warranty booklet mentions quite clearly which parts are covered and which aren't.
why don't you tell the forum what parts you're worried about?

Thanks. I will check the booklet. Paint is what I'm worried about!! Paint is chipping off at places. I'm noticing 'pimple' sort of things which results in this.

One may not even notice it, so small is the area.

I think thats some stone hitting the body causing these pebbles where clear coat is gone and starts rusting. Dont think it ill be covered in warranty

Guys,
I have made up my mind, Punto Emotion it is for me. Now the confusion is only about the choice of color. I want White but wifey dearest wants either the Oceanic Blue or Tuscon Wine.
Since I don't have a covered parking I want to go in for a color that would be easy to maintain.

Wish me luck :-)

White will be a good color i think . Especially you dont have covered parking and dusy will not look so bad in white as in other dark color. Chance of fading also is less. Dark colors looks good if we maintain very well. Me too booked white swift keeping these things in mind. and in city scratches are unavoidable and white is easily available to touch up.

Absolutely agree with you and thats the reason I'm leaning towards white.
