Re: Delhi - Jaipur - Udaipur : Route Queries

Avoid the Beawar Nathdrawa route. Its still under construction and you will get stuck. The ideal route is Delhi-Jaipur-Kishangarh-Bhilwara-Chittorgarh-Udaipur. Good roads with hardly any bad patches.

Recently, I rode on my Thunderbird 500 and did it in 13 hours including 2 stops for food and 3 for refuelling. Plenty of hotels, dhabas and fuel pumps on both the sides and good roads. Nothing to worry.

Re: Delhi - Jaipur - Udaipur : Route Queries

Hi everyone,
I did this route in November as follows:
1. Delhi - Jaipur - Kishangarh - Nasirabad - Bhilwara - Chittorgarh - Udaipur
2. Udaipur - Nathdwara - Rajsamand - Beawar - Ajmer - Kishangarh - Jaipur - Delhi
I found route no. 2 to be definitely better than no. 1, as this is NH-8 and the road quality is much better. Also, you won't get stuck if there is a truck broken down, leading to a small jam (which we did find on no.1 route)
However, please note that since this was demonetisation time, there was no toll and hence a lot of time was saved. The equation may change slightly if you consider time taken at toll plazas.

Re: Delhi - Jaipur - Udaipur : Route Queries

Hi,

I'm driving from Udaipur - Delhi tomorrow and planning to take NH8, ie Udaipur - Rajsamand - Beawar - Jaipur - Gurgaon.

Any good restaurants along this route we can stop at for meals? We plan to leave Udaipur at 6am and ideally stop only for breakfast and a late lunch. Will probably have to stop for fuel atleast once as well so would like to combine a fuel / food stop if good options are available.

Mewar Hotel 76kms after Rajasmand on your right for breakfast. Lots of option after Kishangarh for lunch and fuel, however I am not sure of places that offer a combine fuel/food stop.

Re: Delhi - Jaipur - Udaipur : Route Queries

Guys,

Any view to what are the location diversions if one travels from Greater Noida to Jaipur while going via Mathura side than going via Gurgaon? Google Maps takes me via Mathura when I type in Mathura and I am sure there will be a bypass to avoid the city traffic.

Unless you have any specific reasons for going to Mathura, it will be a longer way. Even if you factor all traffic mess of NCR, via Gurgaon will be faster. Try to leave early if not then avoid office times.

The only reason for Mathura route is to avoid the traffic mess of Gurgaon and based on feedback of some of the locals who have travelled in the recent past from G Noida. Thanks for the feedback - let me think this through.

Re: Delhi - Jaipur - Udaipur : Route Queries

I am driving down to Vadodara from Delhi on the 6th of January and the plan is to do the journey over 1 and half days as there will be fog and that would make covering the total distance of 1000 kms a little tough in a day. My plan is to leave early on 6th January and reach Udaipur by evening and do a night halt there. From there we will proceed to Vadodara the next morning and reach by lunch.

I wanted to know about overnight staying options in Udaipur with secured car parking as I will be taking the BMW which will also be loaded with some household stuff (nothing expensive but still can appear as eye catching/attractive to a thief). Alternatively I can also make a night halt in Chittorgarh too if there is some good option there. If in Udaipur I do not want a place in the interior as the city roads there are very narrow and scary.

Hotel Shree Narayana, stayed there while travelling to/from Bombay, we kept our luggage and suits inside the car, even mom's jewellery was left inside the car. They have ground floor parking with a guard sitting overnight. Easily accessible and plenty of food options available around the hotel in case you want to try some local food for dinner, rooms are clean too.

Re: Delhi - Jaipur - Udaipur : Route Queries

Also any update on the route that I should take? Earlier I have taken the detour from NH8 and taken the Kishangarh>Bhilwara>Chittorgarh>Udaipur route instead of going via Ajmer. Is it the still the recommended route?

No, continue straight from Kishangarh. NH8 is 6 laned till Beawar and thereafter good 4 lane. Past Beawar truck traffic should reduce as most of the heavy traffic on this road goes to Pali - AbuRoad and to Gujarat

Re: Delhi - Jaipur - Udaipur : Route Queries

I will be driving down to udaipur from Delhi in late september. I did the NH8 till kumbhalgarh in 2013 and found it to be quite a nice drive. but this time i wanted to try the Bhilwara-Chittor option if it's faster and can save some driving time.

Can somebody comment on the road condition and if there are any good rest stops available on this route, as i will be travelling with family?

Also, Are there any construction activities i should be aware about?

Thank You.

Depending on your starting point at Udaipur, you can plan either via

1 Nathdwara - Bhilwara - Kishangarh

https://www.google.co.in/maps/dir/Ki...d24.585445!5i1

2 Old road - Udaipur- Chittor- Kishangarh

3 Via Ajmer - Kishangarh

https://www.google.co.in/maps/dir/Ud...26.5870344!3e0

All these routes are 4 / 6 lanes but if you continue straight past Nathdwara & don't turn right towards Bhilwara, the highway is 2 way for about 100km and should be avoided.

Just reached Udaipur from Delhi. Took the least preferred route like always, Delhi-Jaipur Bypass-Ajmer-Beawar-Rajasmand-Nathdwara-Udaipur.

If one loves to drive, the 100 km dual lane highway is the way to go! Good roads, less traffic.

Reached Udaipur in 11 hrs.
