Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

2000-3000 is the typical rate for any basic hotel that has the facilities you mention and is clean and safe to stay in. Maybe such hotels in smaller towns rather than state capital cities charge the rate you mention.

I am a regular business traveller. At Ahmedabad, I put up in really good hotel at Rs. 2200 or 2300 + taxes including a comprehensive buffet breakfast, wi-fi. The bathroom fittings, furniture and soaps etc. are all upmarket. Same in Hyderabad. Same in Bengaluru (in fact little less than Rs. 2000). Same in Raipur too.

The hotels in Bada Bazar are noway near the standard of such hotels. They are charging Rs. 3000 without breakfast, just because of proximity to the market.

Any recommendations for a clean budget hotel near MG Road in Kolkata (below Rs. 2000) are welcome. AC and running hot water necessary.

If you stay a little away from Bada Bazaar then? I mean Uber / Ola etc are quite cheap now compared to taking local autos or taxis.

Yes, that is what I am looking for. The hotel shall be within 10 min distance from Chitpur by cab / auto-rickshaw. Wife may need to commute between the hotel and the market frequently.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Team, during the long weekend at the end of this month myself , wife, and 6 year old kid have planned a 2 day trip to Bangalore. Hotel booking has been done at The Park. I will be checking in on 30th afternoon and check-out on 2nd late morning.
Can Bangalore guys suggest good places to have non-veg food at reasonable rates nearby my stay location?. I don't want to be stuck with hotel restaurant only.
Thanks.

Opposite to the Park you have the 1 MG road Mall and Lido Malls. They have a variety of eating options, McD, KFC, TGIF.

You also have Tandoor on MG road. A 5 minute metro ride to Indiranagar opens up the entire Bangalore's food and drink capital. Best to use Zomato and narrow in on your choice. A thread on Accommodation & Rates-imageuploadedbyteambhp1505379772.223294.jpg

There are tons of places nearby, are you looking for any particular cuisine, If you take the MG road and Brigade road, there are 'N' number of places there too. Parking might be an issue on weekends. Please note that Brigade road, church street , St Marks road, Lavelle Road etc.. these cluster of roads which houses a lot of eateries with in various budgets.

Church Street is still closed to traffic and has been dug up for sewer work so you will have to step carefully, but the eateries are open. Not doing much business to be sure.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Experts,

Planning for a 4 night stay in Indore in the last week of Dec (23-27) 2017. Trying on the travel website but not so encouraging results. Any suggestions on the hotel stay (budget 2k-3k for 2 adults + 1 child) or home stays would be welcome. Planning to visit Ujjain, Mandu, Omkareshwar/Maheshwar + taste the Indore delicacies (city).

This one is under 2K - mostly positive reviews (but some very bad ones too) on Tripadvisor. https://www.tripadvisor.in/Hotel_Rev...a_Pradesh.html

This one is a bit under 3K and looks much better. https://www.tripadvisor.in/Hotel_Rev...a_Pradesh.html

Please share recommendations for family friendly, decent, medium budget hotels (< 5k) in Gurgaon close to the airport. Plan is to make it a hub for visits to places around Delhi (3-4 days).

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Had to stay at Thrissur on account of a quick trip. We usually prefer staying at a very economic hotel, but we made an exception this time & we were glad we did. Huge rooms of 24 X 12 feet inclusive of bathroom.

Rooms had huge wardrobes that are very spacious to accommodate even 15 days luggage more than easily, free WiFi ofcourse. Beds are king size (I was told the bed spread/linen alone costs Rs 15000) & very easily could accommodate 2 adults 2 small kids or or 3 adults comfortably.
Bathroom had 1 15/5 Amp plug point & the room had about 3 such plug points. Room had integrated A/C & not split AC.

5 min walk/1 min drive accessible from Thrissur circle (Swaraj Round), Vadakkunathan Temple. Very very close to Thrissur KSRTC bus stand (half Km) & railway station (1.5 Km).
What blew me was the price!! It's way too cheap for a 3 star accommodation including the food at 100% pure vegetarian hotel, without compromising the quality. An interesting stat to compare is, a tea at A2B costed Rs 30, while it was Rs 20 at Vrindavan Inn. Most important to me was the H.U.G.E covered parking.

Could you name the hotels in Bangalore & Hyderabad - it will be very helpful for me? I have great trouble finding decent hotels. I pay around 3000 for a hotel in Indira Nagar (decent, nothing special) in Bangalore & 4000 for a hotel in Cybercity, Hyderabad (good hotel).

Hyderabad - Treebo hotel arastu inn on booking.com - the area it is in is slightly downmarket (red hills, diagonally opposite the cancer hospital) but near Niloufer, one of the best irani hotels in the city so that's a bonus. The hotel itself is perfectly good. Under 2k. That's centrally located for most of hyderabad / secunderabad.

Bangalore - you had better stay very close to wherever you want to go. If Indira Nagar - that's an expensive part of town, sorry. Try oyo rooms and you might get some slightly cheaper places.
