Reading his blogs and threads in T-Bhp numerous times over the years, and I feel like I've known him in person, though we have never met nor had any conversations.
You will be sorely missed and always remembered.

It was 4 AM, 1st June 2010.

I was on my laptop visiting Sam's thread on Indian Airliners. Was looking for Jet Airways' contact number.

I wanted to book a ticket to Nagpur for a 7 AM flight.

At 3.30 AM, my sister had called saying my father was no more.

That's how I knew Sam.

R.I.P. Sam :(

My heartfelt condolences. Rest in peace Sam, We will always love you and Miss you...

RIP Sam:(, this is really shocking. Prayers for his family and numerous well wishers.

My heartfelt condolences to his family.
Will miss you Sam ..

Too shocked for words. Just proves the old saying"God calls those He loves the most".

R.I.P. Sam and may the Almighty give strength and endurance to your loved ones to cope with your loss!

I am stunned. This is a terrible news.

Like most I haven't met Sam but I feel like someone I knew is lost. Sam you will always be remembered my friend. You have bought smile to all of us with your threads and touched our hearts. You will always live on in our memories and on Tbhp. Rest in peace Sam.

Sorry for your loss Jen.

My condolences to the family.

We all will miss your blogs & posts & tricks :(

RIP SAM

I always envied him for his Landy. Never thought something like this will occur.
He was a good man. My heartiest condolences.

This is such a brutal and tremendous loss to all of us. If even folks like me who only knew him thru the forum are finding it so hard to bear, then I cannot even imagine how hard it must be for his near and dear.
I fervently hope his family and friends find the strength to bear this terrible grief. One small solace is that Sam lived his life to the fullest and inspired so many of us to try and do the same.

In fond memory of Sam's love for life, I'd like to share this small poem with those who might find some comfort in it.
As the poet says, and I am sure Sam would have agreed:

Quote:

There's no life
that couldn't be immortal
if only for a moment.
And Sam's life and the memories that he leaves behind, is the best proof possible that death will never have the last word on a life as well lived as his. Godspeed Sam, and thank you for showing us how life can be lived. You will remain in our hearts for ever.

Quote:

On Death, Without Exaggeration

It can't take a joke,
find a star, make a bridge.
It knows nothing about weaving, mining, farming,
building ships, or baking cakes.
In our planning for tomorrow,
it has the final word,
which is always beside the point.

It can't even get the things done
that are part of its trade:
dig a grave,
make a coffin,
clean up after itself.

Preoccupied with killing,
it does the job awkwardly,
without system or skill.
As though each of us were its first kill.

Oh, it has its triumphs,
but look at its countless defeats,
missed blows,
and repeat attempts!

Sometimes it isn't strong enough
to swat a fly from the air.
Many are the caterpillars
that have outcrawled it.

All those bulbs, pods,
tentacles, fins, tracheae,
nuptial plumage, and winter fur
show that it has fallen behind
with its halfhearted work.

Ill will won't help
and even our lending a hand with wars and coups d'etat
is so far not enough.

Hearts beat inside eggs.
Babies' skeletons grow.
Seeds, hard at work, sprout their first tiny pair of leaves
and sometimes even tall trees fall away.

Whoever claims that it's omnipotent
is himself living proof
that it's not.

There's no life
that couldn't be immortal
if only for a moment.

Death
always arrives by that very moment too late.

In vain it tugs at the knob
of the invisible door.
As far as you've come
can't be undone.

I opened Team-BHP after about 15 days and the first thing that I read was this sad news. Wish I had never opened Team-BHP today or ever. RIP Champ and condolences to the family.

RIP Sam. Heartfelt condolences to his family. A bright shining TBHP Star taken away by God.

RIP Sam, God is a real Selfish to take you away from us.
Wish Jenny and his family recovers from this soon.
Never missed any of your thread Sam, and none can replace you in the forum or anywhere.

Dear SAM, R.I.P

I cannot find words to describe my feelings. May God, be with your family during this crisis.

One of your many Fans, Sumit.

Sam will continue to live among us through his travelogues and posts.

He is the guy who taught me (in plain English), how 4x4 worked (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...scovery-3.html). Thats enough for me to become emo.

RIP Sam.
