Glad I could help!

Now that I've used the chair for close to 2 weeks, I'd like to add a couple of observations to the review:
1. The cushion of the chair is relatively long. In the sense that it's comfortable if you have long thighs. For somebody who's short, if they attempt to reach the backrest with their back erect, they will end up with their knees struggling to get over the edge of the cushion. For reference, I'm 176cm and when I sit with the back erect, touching the backrest, there's a ~1cm gap between the back of my knee and the edge of the chair. This isn't an ideal chair for short folks I think.
2. If I sit continuously in the chair for 5 hours straight, without getting up at all - even for a minute - my back starts hurting. I know this is unhealthy, so I'm getting up every 45 minutes or so now. No complaints since then.

Overall I still think it's a good chair for the price. We just need to be aware of the ergonomics and listen to the body when it speaks.

That is a decent deal, also check if there are any clearance sale for any other models, sometimes they are even better. Keep us updated on your final selection

Is there decent ergonomic chairs available without wheels? I have a hard stone floor at home and anything with wheels will destroy it. And I hate wheeled chairs on hard floors cause you end up moving here and there through the day.

Re: Office / Desk Chair offering excellent support

Hi balenoed,
I too am planning to buy this. Could you tell
1. Is it good?
2. Does it work well on a ceramic surface? ( Since its a wheeled chair)
Thanks

Yes, it is a decent one. Seating is comfortable. My budget was 7-8K. It exactly fitted there. And moreover this is the model in that range which has a lock when pushed back. It has a small lumbar support as well.

The other models were one at ~6K, ~6.9K, ~7.8K (none of these have push back locks) and this one is ~8K (got a discount of 5%, hence 7679/-). The next model is priced at some 12K I guess.

I have a marble floor and there is no issue. I believe it will be as good on ceramic tiles as well.

Are these guys, wurfel, reliable? I am getting a corporate discount via my company of around 30-33% and I am looking at getting a office chair.

You can lock those wheels. Or even buy locking castor wheels from Amazon.com, and replace the non-locking ones. I'm using the non-wheel chair in UAE, not sure if you get this in India

Re: Office / Desk Chair offering excellent support

I am now stationed in a township and most chair cos like featherlite does not deliver here. The one that I know delivers till now are are Damro, Royal Oak and Durian. Any feedback on these brands?

I have severe back neck pain these days. What feature should I look for to mitigate this?

Very much used with the L shaped table at office. I dont have it here. So adjustable arm rest is a must.

My max budget is 20k but will be happy to get a decent one for lesser price if available. If so I can use the extra amount for a Standing Desk converter.

Usually, the entire base is simply 'press-fit' onto the end of the pneumatic strut.

In fact, when you buy a chair online, it comes in pieces, and you have to insert the strut into the base, and just sitting on the chair secures it in place.

A bit of whacking with a soft hammer will separate the two.

If you find a chair with wheels you like, you should be able to easily switch the base out with any other.

----

Another option is to replace just the wheels / castors with some sort of fixed pegs / soft feet. The wheels are attached to the base in a similar press-fit type way.

Didn't want to wait further and also was a bit skeptical about visiting Aundh(I live in Hinjewadi), hence thought to order this model of Ikea, checked quite a few reviews(mostly from out of India) and found them on the positive side. So considering a global product from Ikea went for it, will post the feedback once I receive and use it for some time.
Hi, so have been using this Ikea chair for 2 weeks now, decent comfort, no feeling of soreness even after 8+ hours of regular seating, does not has many adjustments but overall really comfortable to use. Comes with a 10 year warranty and feels pretty solid, at a price point of ~7800 its value for money.
