I'm quite frequenting this place called Nanda's in HSR layout as I work very close to it.

Amazing Andhra meals there. Very cheap as well, Just 49 bucks. You should try Prawns Pepper dry and Chicken Sholay kabab here as well.

They have a bar area in the first floor and the ground floor just serves food and you can find a lot of families here.

I am guessing this is the one in front of Agara lake next to the petrol bunk, the one on the way from Agara junction to HSR BDA junction.

Any recommendations for good chicken/mutton biriyani joints in south bangalore - jp nagar/bannerghatta road area ?

Any Nandini outlet or the best place would be Hyderabad house on Hosur road junction.

By authentic i mean a proper dhaba not a restaurant with serves punjabi food thanks.

Bobby's Punjabi Dhaba next to Ulsoor Gurudwara is the best place i've had, very limited variety but good Authentic Punjabi food.

I always try to keep myself away from this mouth watering thread:Frustrati:D

Hyderabadi Biryani would be a ideal place for some real spicy biryani. It is just before Arekere gate junction and after HSBC in BG road.

I am a veggie, so the recommendations that I provide are from my colleagues which are kind of tested and re-tested over a few years in that area

1. A bit far from your preference, but Hyd Biryani on victoria road.
2. Hyd biryani on hosur road near the jyoti nivas road end is not rated even in mid range by our folks.
3. Dakhani degh on the Sagar hospital road is rated medium
4. Meghana biryani is relatively new, and is rated good. This is pretty close to jyoti nivas college, koramangala, next to katti rolls.

1 and 2 are different. 1 is Hyderabad Biriyani House, which is good but not authentic. 2 is Hyderabad House which is authentic Hyderabadi biriyani. They are a large chain and are present in HYD also. Dakhani Degh is not bad. Mughal Darbar, just up the road from DD, isn't bad either.

If you go straight from Jayanagar towards the Banashankari BMTC depot, after the temple on the right, and the right-left turn, there is a small shop on the downhill road, just after the speed-breaker and intersection. I don't think it has a name, and the biriyani is amazing. It's donne biriyani, not Hyderabadi, and runs out very quickly.

watfor - You got it right. It is right next to the petrol bunk. It is on your left when coming from Agara junction to BDA complex signal.

Dreamdiesel - You should definitely try this one if your a Andhra food lover.

Yep their Donne biryani is really good, even I can't remember the name.
Biryani will be available only in afternoon I feel.

shivaji's. thats the name. I've gone there a couple of time and have only been put down by the huge rush there.

+1, I definitely loved that donne biryani. It had a different taste altogether. That place is always crowded and runs out of Biryani pretty fast. We called the place (or biryani rather) 'Banashankari Donne Biryani'

Has anyone tried 'Suggi' in Basaveshwaranagar? It serves Malnad & coastal cuisine. I liked the taste of the food and it is not very expensive either. My only grudge is that combos never fill your stomach. The quantity served is very less.

I recommend mangalore pearl in frazer town for Mangalore cuisine and the prices are just right.

For Mangalore style food I often go to either of these,
Coastal Express - Shivananda circle -Try prawn ghee roast with neer dosa
Coast II Coast - Opp Kormangala Club -Try prawn ghee roast with neer dosa
Sana-di-ge (Goldfinch)- Crescent Rd. Slightly expensive, but really good

there is this other place famous for their donne biryani. its available at 6.00 am (i guess its only sundays)and its pretty sold out!! its in chickpet/cottonpet (whatever area it is thats next to good shed road).
I've been there and its very different and nice. but its kinda weird to see people throng a small car shed in an area like that at 6 in the morning to eat chicken biryani!!
